ROK writer Matt Forney has received hundreds of harassing and threatening tweets since we published his article “5 Reasons Why Girls With Tattoos And Piercings Are Broken.” Several of those have included serious death threats, levied against him solely because he wrote a piece of commentary that criticized women who partake in harmful self-mutilation. For his own safety, Matt is currently in an undisclosed location outside of the United States. Only a few trusted individuals know where he is housed.
At precisely 4:10pm on October 14, we began receiving a massive flood of traffic. It appears that this traffic originated from a Facebook group called Inked Till Death. They shared the article with the following text: “Well this is stupid.” At time of this writing, the posting has garnered nearly 7,000 shares, providing a large volume of visitors to our inadequate web server, which at one point served 3,805 simultaneous outraged people.
In addition to the thousands of angry comments on the Inked Till Death group, outrage spilled over onto Twitter, where tattooed females and their white knight protectors continue to spew invective at us:

More severely, Matt has received death threats. While death threats on the internet are usually nothing serious, they are always taken to be 100% credible when targeted towards a woman, especially one who has successfully weaseled her way into the video game industry. At ROK, we see no reason why equal treatment should not be applied to both sexes when it comes to violent threats that could result in death.

When Anita Sarkeesian was threatened this week (again), major media outlets like the New York Times, Washington Post, and Time immediately reported on it with sympathetic coverage. We expect the same in response to the threats Matt has received. As publisher of ROK, I’m prepared to field questions from ABC News, Huffington Post, and Jezebel, who I’m sure will all want to report on this crime against Matt. I can also act as an intermediary to put both journalists and the federal authorities in contact with Matt, who understandably does not wish to reveal his location.
Final Decision In Response To The Controversy
After ensuring Matt’s safety, I carefully went through the emotional responses that his article received, and have failed to see one valid concern that these outraged individuals have provided. Their anger and criticisms are eerily void of logic, sense, or anything resembling a rational thought from a sane human entity. Therefore, Matt’s article will remain and he will receive a bonus for sacrificing his safety to exercise his free speech. As any man will tell you, tattooed and pierced women tend to exhibit the negative traits that he so eloquently described, and so we will not voluntarily censor information that can help the lives of millions of men who come across it.

The idea behind the article does not come from “ignorance” or “hate” but rather as a presentation of data about a behavioral trend. Women who get tattoos also tend to do x, y, and z. Men being observant, collating data, and then discussing it is the opposite of ignorance.

Fair enough. But with my experience with women, you must forgive me for being at least a bit skeptical of this claim. Married women, has far as I can tell, STILL care VERY MUCH about how the opposite sex views them just like men still care very much how other women view them even if they’re married. As far as manual labor goes (i.e. most real ACTUAL work), ANY task that requires lifting is something women flounder at relative to men. I went and read the science behind his claims and did further research beyond just blogs, and Matt is, as you said, accurate. But the blog depicting all his claims through research was much more convincing and not at all aggravating. People don’t get so emotional about sound facts, but of course people would get angry if someone posts insults, and I’m sure Matt knew people would voice disagreement.

In Australia, in 2010, 14,181 women were diagnosed with breast cancer along with 127 men. In 2011, 2914 women had died from breast cancer and so did 23 men. That’s one year. That means, more women around the world most likely died of breast cancer, than the amount of men who have died in the Iraq war over the whole course of the war (8 years).
Also, and about Testicular cancer, has a low death rate. In Australia, only 706 cases of Testicular cancer were diagnosed. In 2011, in Australia there were only 16 deaths from Testicular cancer.
I’d hate to tell you, but most countries ‘real work’ is assisted by machinery. As manual labour just takes too long. Why harvest a crop by hand when you can use a machine? Why mine with a pickaxe, when you can use a machine? Most heavy lifting, is assisted by machines these days. You work at a supermarket, you have forklifts and lifts to stack things on the top shelf. In poorer countries manual labour by hand does exist in large numbers, but that is also why men are used for those jobs.
Edit: Also, in Australia our trains, billboards, buses, taxis and sport events are filled with notices about all cancers. We have ad campaigns in order to encourage men to visit their doctor about Testicular cancer. It’s not a ‘hidden’ subject here. Maybe it is in America, and other countries.

My best foreman is a woman, but her technical skills are less than the individuals shes in charge of. And It is true that women and men have their strong points. Bottom line is I put my employees where their skills are most beneficial to production. My sister manages $300 million in clients accounts. She has a ability that Many men don’t. She’s told me her worst employees are women, and she’s pretty much all for women’s rights. But she won’t hire a woman without strong references, and she’s terminated more women than men.

I charge based on costs and if I’m not competitive, we lose business. We are very aware that men an women can be trained, but there are tasks that tend to favor one gender over another. What you’ve said, in context, is that the demographic ‘women’ can be largely applied to another demographic in his post or statement. I didn’t say anything about tattoos being “wrong.” I think tattoos on people in general are trashy, though. But I’m not a homosexual. I’m not trying to court and marry any man with tattoos. Nor are the men who read this site. We’re interested in women.
But I do think men who have tattoos are often trying to cultivate a thuggish brutish image of themselves. Which I don’t exactly think is flattering even if (mostly slutty) women seem buy into that look. I have no tattoos, myself. I want people in the adult world to actually take me seriously and I’m a decent enough looking guy so that no such “enhancement” is necessary.

Yes, men are conscripted well done. But conscription hasn’t happened for a fair few years, not since the Vietnam war.
But also, did you know countries like North Korea, Sudan, Israel, Libya and Cuba conscript women as well? Also during world war 2, the UK conscripted women, however as women were needed in positions of teaching and nursing, and then were socially accepted to just be breeders. It was relatively few women. Norway is also hoping to include female conscription. I’m pretty sure there are other examples of female conscription as well.

Also, the female gender is not responsible for testicular cancer getting less donations. People just do what they think would help more, testicular cancer is deadly, but it’s easier to find in advance, and easier to treat. Breast cancer is not, and affects both genders in the same way.
I am actually a qualified electrician. I started my apprenticeship when I was 15. There were only about 5 females in my college class at the time, and only about 2 or 3 where I was employed. My niece is doing a plumbing apprenticeship now, and she says her class is actually majority females and older men. Also, America must be different. Scholarships here are never based on gender, usually financial background and life experience.
I’m not really particular about which gender invented what things. Neither are you, otherwise I doubt you’d ever use a paper bag, or even believe Kevlar armour should be used.
Yes there is heavy work, but due to OHS in the workplace generally nobody will lift anything heavier than 20 Kg, without machinery assistance. I can easily lift anything at 20 kg, and possibly up to 25 kg depending on the shape. I am not a muscular woman, and I am quite petite. Again, America could be different.

2. America is an idea, that people deserve freedom.
3. Either everyone deserves it, or no one does.
