Women’s fashion magazine Elle has decided to stop focusing on its four letter title, French for “Her,” and has placed Hari Nef, a 23-year-old man who graduated from the theater program at Columbia University last year on its September, 2016 cover.  Hari was not available for comment, and therefore I am unable to confirm whether this is masterful acting by the cunning theater major Hari, able to troll photographers, makeup artists, editors, and publishers into believing he is a hot woman, or the staff of top selling Elle magazine forgetting what their nameplate means.

Hari grew up in a single parent home in Massachusetts.  His mother was a saleswoman, and he expressed some discomfort as a teenager, and after moving to NYC to study drama at Columbia, began dressing in “genderless clothes” and upon graduation landed a modeling gig and performed his first catwalk in 2015 during New York Fashion Week.

Apparently, Hari still has most of the associated cues of being a male.  He states:

“I could have hidden in Boston and lived at home for 3 years, gone through my transition, taken voice lessons to make my voice more feminine, gotten gender reassignment surgery, and spent time to complete my transition, but I didn’t want to wait.  I wanted to be in the world,”

He states that he still sounds, acts, and looks like a man, and likely has kept the frank and beans like role model Bruce.

“in an ideal world, I wouldn’t have to change my body.  I wouldn’t have to do all this stuff.  I wouldn’t have to be pretty, or feminine, and people would respect that.”

Well, I wouldn’t go so far as to respect anything besides your privacy, but yes, if you just shut up and quietly lived your gay life without calling attention to yourself, and without the theatrics of pretending to actually be female, or “gender shifting” or any of the other 31 flavors of the month, then many people wouldn’t have a problem with you.

  1. Sometimes I find it real hard to recognize whether it’s a man. It scares me. This is one of the examples. Upon you mentioning it, you can clearly see the male features. But the question is: Would I see them if you hadn’t said it?

          the best way of explaining it is, testosterone is a staining hormone. once you’ve gotten the initial shots of it by being a male, it tends to stain and be their permanently. and if you get two big shots….one at around 6 weeks in the womb and another during puberty. if you get only the womb one, you still cant completely scrub the male out of you….but if you get it at puberty too? theres almost no way to make you not look like a boy at the very least.
          the hormone stains….unlike with a female to male tranny. you are basically doing what is done in the womb….altering the default female state to male so it tends to look much more natural unlike the female to male.
          it would seem we can morph easier into a female than we can regress back to being a female.

        2. I think the problem with the liberal movement is that, while I basically agree with a lot of its tenets (free expression, no judgment, showing love to your children etc), it is approached from the totally opposite angle than it needs to.
          This is stuff that, in order to be able to do properly, you must be confident and healthy yourself. For instance, you can not love in your kid what you can not love in yourself, no matter how hard you try. This creates “faux love”, which I think leads to emotional trauma once more, because the kid grows up confused about what “love” even means, equating material presents and the pretense of love with real love.
          Also, non-judgmentalism begins with yourself. It is not about running around accusing people of judging you. It is about YOU stopping to judge others, not you demanding non-judgment from them.

My dad said that capitalism actually encourages people to share, because it creates a tough environment where people have more compassion for each other – instead of the resentment created by a form of socialism that forces people to do stuff.
          Now, I know many say that the socialism as it is was meant to be a temporary solution until people begin to share willingly. I think that’s a big fat lie.
          But there are other forms of approaching solutions than to force people to obey them. For instance, you can start by yourself with meditation and learning to be genuinely self-loving and confident and as a reflection of that, compassionate with others. When you achieve that, you can help others achieve the same. Basically, what you do is you eliminate the toxic power games people play out of mental illness (not meant in a derogatory way) and then their intuition guides them to act in a manner that leads to great results.
          Is “sharing everything” the solution? I don’t know! I don’t think so. Those tribes you mentioned, they don’t share everything either. They simply share some stuff where it makes sense. I think we should adopt the same idea.
          And we already do. Tell me of one country where water supply is not in one form or another monopolized. Or roads. Or city planning. Now, I am not saying that HAS to be that way, but I can’t think of an example where it is different.
          Anyhow. I think that for instance, providing free food and basic housing would be a great thing.
          I am not saying that to achieve this, we should force producers to supply this, or achieve it with crazy taxes. But say we foster confidence and peace of mind, then people will be less greedy because they will be happy. And if they then happen to have the means to do it, they may just create a business model that provides stuff for as low a price as possible.
          Look at how popular the book “The Power of Now” is, for instance.
          As you can see, I am all against the form of socialism you think of. In fact, I would rather things to stay as they are than even consider bullshit like that. But, I think there are ways to improve our culture with ideas of sharing. IF, and only if, this is achieved without shame, guilt, fear or the likes. It has to come out of a true inner calling of each person involved. It cannot be a “if you were as enlightened as I, you would share your toys with me” kind of thing.
          Maybe the way to achieve it is counter-intuitive even. By deregulating and actually stopping to force people to be “social”, they may suddenly feel like their own inner incentive to help others is actually worth something and that their choice to do so actually means something, because they are free to choose.
