27 is a big year for men. 28, even bigger. For men around or approaching this age, there are three books I recommend: Righteous Indignation by Andrew Breitbart, Death of Cool by Gavin McInnes and A Dead Bat in Paraguay by Roosh.
In these three books the authors describe what their life was like in their late 20’s. All three share in common a transformative change during this period. For readers, especially those in their late 20’s these books provide the worthwhile tool of perspective.
Personally, I’m 27 approaching 28; I found it valuable to read about what other relatable men were like at this age.
These three books also double as history lesson concerning our modern media landscape. Although the authors all have recognizable names online today, life at this age for these men was far from glamorous.
Righteous Indignation: Excuse Me While I Save the World!
Before launching their websites and giant media brands, Andrew Breitbart and Matt Drudge spent their time on obscure message boards.

The Death Of Cool
In his late 20’s, Gavin McInnes started Vice alongside a heroin addict and a man referred to as “Bullshitter Shane.”
Before Vice became the horrific pile of Satanic globohomo trash it is today — it was still pretty degenerate. But they had some good writers. Mainly, Gavin, and Jim Goad, author of The Redneck Manifesto.
As revealed in the book, Gavin was the main creative force behind the brand’s early success:
“I worked my ass off every waking moment and cut costs to the point where we were doing the whole thing for free.”
“I shot the pictures myself, wrote the articles, edited them, and laid them out. When people said we needed more women or minorities, I made up ethnic-sounding or female aliases for myself.”

What else makes the book worthwhile for a man to read in his late 20’s? Gavin had game. He “managed to lay a good three hundred women over the course of twenty years and they were usually in the 7 range.”

After quitting his job as a microbiologist at the age of 28, Roosh left the United States en route to bang his way through the continent of South America. A Dead Bat in Paraguay gives the reader a first hand account in the evolution of Roosh’s international game. Things didn’t go exactly as planned for our protagonist and in the beginning and there are many rejections, flakes, and unexpected bowel movements. Roosh gave a few readings from this book on a recent live stream:

I asked Dr. Wang if he could talk for a minute. He knew something was wrong because I never asked him for a private conversation. I just came out with it.
“Dr. Wang I’d like to put in my two weeks notice.”
“Whaaaaaaaat?”
“Yeah, umm, it’s just time for me to move on. I want to take some time off.”
“But I thought you were so happy here. You were going to start working on getting your masters degree. Why would you want to leave?”
“I just want to take a long vacation I guess. I’m not sure, but I want to take a break.”
“If there is a problem, we can fix it. Is it your pay? Tell me.”
I wanted to tell him all the reasons I hated him and the work. I wanted to tell him why working for a corporation is a one way path to a stale, monotonous life where the only thing to look forward to are increasingly dull weekends. But what would be the point? I would just waste my energy on a man who believed in the system. There was nothing he could do to change my mind.”
For those of you new to Roosh or ROK, Dead Bat is essentially Roosh: Episode 1. There are plenty of points in the book where Roosh could’ve “given up on game” or “went back home.” If he did, you wouldn’t be reading this today.

The bottom line is red pill has to be learned and internalized early in life – before you even breed so the truths become self relevant and are reaffirmed throughout life. I have a relative who is a teacher, and from a conservative family. College and the teaching curriculum have convinced her, for example, that all races really are equal and have equal potential. When I asked her why not a single invention has come out of the negro race, and how they didn’t even have a wheel when Europeans began to explore Africa, she said “It’s not that they couldn’t have or didn’t think of it, but they were just happy living the way they were.” She didn’t deny their lack of accomplishment, but had an excuse for it.

If you look closely, you can see a Huffington Post endorsement on the of McGinnis’ cover, just after she’s mentioned along with Andrew Breitbart and Matt Drudge in the book above it. She certainly is (or at least was) the political chameleon. Like or dislike them, at least Drudge and Breitbart didn’t flip when the breeze shifted and this woman decided to wage her little war on men. I read a full range of global media, even outlets that don’t rep my ideologies (HuffPo, about 90% of NYT and WaPo, at least 40% NPR radio, a portion of Al-Jazeera, etc.), just to keep a finger on the pulse. Some mental energy must be invested to understand the range of ideas and opposition out there. I have to see why it is that somewhat powerful media women think they want to obliterate men and run the country. Their editorial boards are stacked with estrogen and it all seems unnecessarily adversarial.

As for “keeping your finger on the pulse”, sounds like just an excuse to cling to your blue pilled worldview tbh. I used to do that but there is no need to. Once you truly understand what your opposition is, you can predict their moves and motivations even better than they can. Ahhh late 20’s. Feel like just yesterday. If you are there once you hit 30 life starts ticking by very quickly. You don’t even need to have a wife/kids to make it go fast. My 20’s seemed to last forever. Summers at the shore, weekends out, growing professional career. Hit 30 though and the years just started to go, go, go. Nothing bad about that – just funny how time seems to accelerate as one gets older.
As far as reading goes, hit the classics if you have not done so. Nothing beats the ancient Greeks and Romans. Lots of wisdom in the writings that survived the Dark Ages.
Funny thing is I don’t mind being a bit older. My 20’s were confusing because I had not accumulated wisdom yet. The only thing that sucks about your 30’s though is your lose the vigor of your 20’s. Maintaining high T will help slow down the aging process so will eating a low calorie diet. But you can’t stop Father Time.
The great thing about being a man is if you take care of yourself, treat hair loss with the proper drugs (if applicable), you will look the same from about your early 30’s till your mid to late 50’s. Women hit the wall either at 1) at the first kid or 2) around the mid 30’s at the latest. You might need to incorporate a few extra creams into the mix but you have plenty of youthfulness left as long as you do weight bearing exercise and keep the BMI low.
