5 Worst Presidents In U.S. History

Why are the worst presidents in U.S. history considered to be so? Many of the same presidents are considered to be among the worst by scholars and historians. When you go in-depth as to why they are considered the worst, you will notice some trends. I’ve distilled them down to five factors that make or break U.S. presidents.

Decisiveness

Presidents who wait to solve problems or wait to take action in dire situations create more problems and more dire situations. Their indecision represents personal and presidential failures that make earn them a place among the worst presidents.

Imperialism

Presidents who spend American resources on imperialism when they should be solving domestic problems are among the worst. There are no international issues that take precedence over domestic issues. We have everything we need in America. Imperialism at this point is a sort of vanity, especially if it comes at the expense of solving America’s domestic problems.

Corruption

An old teacher I once had used to say that the problem with the American government was that all the corruption was legal. Yet, some presidents are far more corrupt than others. Those presidents are among the worst.

Warmongering & Military Spending

The military is expensive. The military industrial machine America has is incredibly expensive. Not only does it cost a great deal of money to keep a well-trained standing army, but once you have such an army there is a temptation to use it. Those who make that call are among the worst presidents.

Racial Tensions

As Ann Coulter says, America has always been a two-race nation. There are the Europeans who settled this nation and descendants of slaves from Africa who labored in the fields. There were some other early peoples (like Native Americans who allied with European settlers and Chinese laborers who worked the railroads), but these two made the vast majority. Many of the worst presidents antagonized the relations between these groups.

With that said here are some of the worst presidents in U.S. history.

1. James Buchanan

Buchanan is often considered one of the worst because he did very little to prevent the southern states from seceding in the lead-up to the civil war. He influenced a supreme court case which decided that slavery could be outlawed hoping it would put the issue to rest. It did not. The slavery/anti-slavery argument continued and lead to the civil war. Buchanan failed to take decisive action and is remembered for that failure.

2. Warren Harding

Harding admitted to not being fit for the office, but he took it anyway. He was a notorious people pleaser and womanizer. What makes him one of the worst is the corruption. He let his cronies and buddies use public resources and funds for personal gain. What’s more, he was notorious for spending his time playing golf and poker when he should’ve been doing president stuff.

3. Woodrow Wilson

Wilson is guilty of warmongering and imperialism. He had an out-of-control sense of humanitarianism. He wanted to spread democracy across the globe for the betterment of man. He did that by getting the U.S. involved in WWI. It created an economic recession. Domestic economic problems and the loss of American lives were the prices of Wilson’s attempt at imperialism.

4. Ronald Reagan

Many people like Reagan for his good qualities, but there is no denying how much bad stuff started with Reagan. He shifted the tax burden from the very wealthy to the working class. This resulted in the ever-increasing rich-poor wage gap which may make the U.S. a 3rd world country one day. He placed all woes on the government and taxes but didn’t mind spending incredible amounts of money on the military and other acronym organizations.

5. Andrew Johnson

Johnson is often considered among the worst because of his inability (corruption?) in regards to the reconstruction of the U.S. south after the civil war. His actions and inactions resulted in Jim Crow laws and disillusionment of southern states with the federal government. He was so bad he was impeached and nearly kicked out of office.

Now that we have some historical examples (there were more that I didn’t mention), how do 21st century Presidents compare?

Modern Presidents Comparison

George W. Bush

No other president mixed up warmongering, imperialism, and corruption as blatantly as George W. Bush. After 9/11, which he and Bill Clinton should’ve done more to prevent, Bush got the U.S. into two wars. Rather than just bombing those waste-dumps known as Iraq and Afghanistan into oblivion, he sent in ground troops. We were in Iraq for years after Saddam Hussein was dead.

Halliburton was all anyone could talk about during those years. Did Bush really send U.S. military to die in Iraq so Halliburton could acquire its oil reserves? Or was it also to spread democracy, this siren song of the neo-cons? Who can say? Either way, a century from now Gearoge W. Bush will certainly be remembered among the worst U.S. presidents for these reasons.

Barack Obama

Logic would tell us that the first black president would have strained racial tensions on his CV but he does. Every time somebody got on some podium and said America is a racist nation, Obama should have replied that it wasn’t. Yet he never did. His inaction really sent America down the wrong direction. (I’m slightly surprised he didn’t say that the only reason he won the presidency was that the white half of him had white privilege).

Corruption scandals abound during his office thanks in large part to his secretary of state, HRC. It was a poor choice, but you also have to wonder why she was never relieved of her duties. He’s got warmongering on his resume as well. The war in Afghanistan started before he was in office and continued throughout his presidency. At some point ending a war has to be a priority or you’ll be remembered as one of the worst, especially with all the corruption and racial tensions.

Donald Trump

Trump only has two years while the others have eight, so this is probably premature. So far, though, all the corruption charges against have been complete BS. He’s accomplished much economically and worked to kill terrorists rather than just prolong the wars against them. His worst flaw thus far is the lack of a southern border wall. It could still happen though.

Thus far, the first two 21st century presidents will undoubtedly go down in history as two of the worst U.S. presidents ever. I have high hopes that Trump will be remembered as one of the best.

101 thoughts on “5 Worst Presidents In U.S. History”

  1. 1) LBJ – by far the worst. Not even close. If not for the laws passed under his Administration, the US would still be a great country. And he did it mostly for personal political gain.
    2) Obama – the most ill intentioned and anti-American President ever. And both he and his wife made no bones about it. And they still got elected somewhow.
    3) FDR – laid the foundation for LBJ. Took globalism to the nth degree. And his hideous wife, who stirred trouble in this country like other women whip up a cake.
    4) Woodrow Wilson – the income tax and globalism.
    5) Jimmy Carter – the epitome of a weak president.

    1. Take off Carter put on the Bush failure episodes one and two as the same President, most criminally corrupt and foreign Jew And NEOCON connected foreign ass kisses. Treasons middle name was Bush last name was Obama. All the worst Presidents were the most sincere Jew ass kisses.

    2. Much better list, I would add Andrew Jackson. Vastly expanding the power of the federal government and put many of the worst ideas of the progressives into practice.

      1. Jackson?
        Really???
He was a great champion for the American working class.
And his personal history was probably the greatest of of all American presidents. And just an overall badass, what with the dueling and all.
Sorry, can’t agree with you on Andrew Jackson. I view Teddy Roosevelt favorably as well, despite the regulations.

        1. Jackson also said F you to any attempts at private reserve banks like the “federal reserve” we have now. He set the US free at the time.
Jackson rocks, and is well worthy of being on our $20

    3. Jimmy Carter was beta and a “nice guy” as all fuck, at a completely different time and place (the good manners, Christian rich, and no tattoos mid 20th century deep south) when such characteristics were well rewarded with a good slim wife and other benefits.
      Not anymore.

      1. Funny, Jimmy Carter stopped grain subsidies to the USSR and Reagan turned them on again. It is funny to hear the Reagan worshipers stand on their head to rationalize that.

        1. Carter is now outspoken on the J influence in American politics and foreign affairs.
He also condemns the [email protected] treatment of Palestinians. Wrote a book on it I believe.
He is going to be disliked and have his name and accomplishments tarnished now regardless.

      2. Carter wrote a book and has been vocal of the Israeli apartheid, war crimes committed against Palestine and the strong influence they have in American politics.
It’s no wonder his name gets so tarnished now.

        1. JFK and his brother also were VERY critical of Israel and were going after them….too bad the [[[magical ice bullet]]] and the other “normal bullet” got to them.

    4. great list @slim
      about 100 years ago – {women voting, The FED, Income tax}…tick tock…
      Alarm is going of now.

    5. Obama was a great president for a liberal. Obama had no intention of being a classical American president, and he did exactly what he intended to do and he did it VERY EFFECTIVELY, unlike retard conservatives who own every major branch f the government and still cannot get a simple wall built. You could easily write a book on that retard Hollywood actor Reagan (amnesty, Iran contra, first female supreme court justice, the beginning of our debt spiral, and BEGINNING OF THE FAGGOT LIBERALTRIAN “MUH GOVERNMENT ALWAYS BAD” RETARDS, aka, boomer conservatism” )

    6. Jimmy Carter is a bad guy coz he had the audacity to tell Americans to stop shoving burgers down their throats.

    7. Wilson gave us the Federal Reserve. That not only makes him the worst President, it makes him the worst human being.

  2. Take off Carter put on the Bush failure episodes one and two as the same President, most criminally corrupt and foreign Joo And NEOCON connected foreign ass kisses. Treasons middle name was Bush last name was Obama. All the worst Presidents were the most sincere Joo ass kisses.

  3. Regarding Ronald Reagan, I agree that he failed in some respects as he should have fought to repeal the great society program in their entirety. And scale back the new deal programs as well. And he should never have given amnesty to the 1M illegals. But overall, he was a decent compared to other presidents. His tax cuts spurred significant growth and created many lucrative jobs. Agree that the military spending was excessive, but it could/should have been paid for by gutting social programs. Both then and now. Or even better, lower military spending, gut the socials, and let people keep the money they earn.

    1. Hey moron, his tax cuts put us into our current debt spiral, and the debt he incurred we are still paying interest (aka, more debt) on. It was around 3 million illegals granted amnesty. He, like all other inbred, simple minded, moronic libertarians practiced what you would like to call Keynesian economics, whereby you keep government spending high while going into debt, doesn’t matter if that debt is done through lower taxes/same government spending or from no tax cuts/ increased government spending. Ya, and all those tax cuts went to…..retards like yourself who spend money on hookers and sluts, booze, and just about whatever other wasteful thing you could think of that retarded Americans spend their money on…and not on infrastructure, important research, border security, etc etc, you know, the things that actually allow us to have an advanced economy. Oh, and not to mention the Iran Contra, his free trade agreements and the outsourcing of our manufacturing, and many other dumbass things he did. Reagan was a fucking horrible president, and those other president, including LBJ, didn’t give out amnesty, and didn’t send us into massive debt like Reagan. Reagan started the materialistic Boomer consumer society that we currently live in…the end. BTW, he also raised taxes a number of times because his bullshit economic theories, that didn’t really work, but morons like you still believe did. Don’t get popularity and accomplishment mixed up bro, and most of Reagan’s popularity came from the same media you now distrust, but it was just as worthless back then as it is now. Reagan was just another pussy-shit cuckservative.

      1. Reagan legalized more than just 1 million illegals.
It was about 3 million…and that does not include all the “family reunifications” that followed.
Reagan’s tax cuts are exaggerated by Faux News…yes the top rate for income tax was reduced, but that’s it.
Read “Why the Reagan Revolution Failed” by David Stockman – Reagan’s own Budget Director to know the truth…but the Fox/Limbaugh B.S. is so much more enjoyable because it does not require thinking.
Reagan screwed small businessmen with tax increases by signing the Tax
        Reform Act of 1986.
Military spending was excessive? How about some $500 screwdrivers?
Reagan should have gone to jail for that!

  4. Very good list. Spot on. Obama destroyed our race relations and his massive shit on the economy. Trump is undoing Obozo’s massive failures during his 8 year vacation.

    1. LOL, Obama didn’t destroy race relations….diversity destroyed race relations and they have always been bad in this country. We just have more video footage of it now, and now minorities are getting more brazen and arrogant as they increase in number. Obama and other Marxists just took advantage of what was already there.
“Trump is undoing Obozo’s massive failures during his 8 year vacation.” He isn’t undoing anything, and he has yet to take hardline action on really anything. The best thing he is doing now is just acting as a roadblock to the Marxist/anti-white movement so that maybe, just maybe, the slow and low IQ white trash libertarians might pull their heads out of their ass.

      1. Shhh! Most of these clowns still think the Orange Joooo is going to swoop down and save them any day now. They get very angry when you suggest that maybe they’ve been duped, now that we’re two years in and the only people who have benefited from Trump wear funny little skullcaps when nobody’s looking.

    2. Excessive immigration owing to Reagan Amnesty, and massive legal immigration under Bush Sr, Clinton, Bush Jr, and Obama, destroyed race relations.

  5. The way I heard it, Andrew Johnson wasn’t a crook, but lots of other people were, and he wasn’t doing much about the problem. As for the radical reconstruction, disillusionment is putting it a bit mildly. Some of those carpetbaggers were almost as vile as SJWs.

    1. LOL, a crook back then is probably a lot different than a crook today. Johnson would probably be considered a white nationalist neo-Nazi in todays environment.

      1. Just about all of them were outspokenly pro-White until the mid-20th century. Lincoln himself said lots of things far more radical than Jared Taylor. Now, when Trump makes a vaguely favorable statement about Western civilization, the media starts caterwauling about it.

  6. Warren Harding was a good president. Unlike most presidents, he presided over a decrease in spending, and he freed the anti-war protesters that Woodrow Wilson threw in jail.

    1. He WAS a bad president. He just happened to preside over a decent US economy in the early 1920s which was relatively uneventful as far as wars, cultural malaise, etc is concerned.

  7. “He (Reagan) shifted the tax burden from the very wealthy to the working class. ”
What is this the huffington post? Can we have one site that isn’t full of Marxist crap?

    1. Sorry the truth hurts bro, but that is literally what he did, as in, it is objective FACT that he did that. Just because Reagan was a popular Hollywood president who gave millions of illegals citizenship doesn’t mean he was God, it doesn’t mean he was that intelligent, and it doesn’t mean everything he said was correct. The right wing needs to wake up to the Jew worshipping, amnesty granting, debt spiraling, aristocracy loving moron known as Reagan.

    2. Fox News has taught you well…
If you say something against Reagan…you’re a Commie!
      Reagan was a LIBERAL…
Let’s look at his record as Governor of California
      TAXES:
In 1967 Reagan signed the largest tax increase in California history at the time.
He ran for re-election in 1970 and promised voters his feet were “in concrete” against a withholding system of state income tax. However, he lied and raised taxes again.
Reagan later said “that sound you hear concrete cracking around my feet.”
ABORTION: In 1967, Ronald Reagan signed the Therapeutic Abortion Act. From a total of 518 legal abortions in California in 1967, abortions went to an average of 100,000 per year in the remaining years of Reagan’s two terms — more than in any U.S. state before Roe v. Wade.
      GUN CONTROL:
Reagan signed the Mulford Act. The Mulford Act forbids Californians from carrying loaded guns. (What good is an unloaded gun Ronnie?)

    3. Reagan ramped up the War on Drugs to cover up the Iran-Contra Affair, which involved selling weapons to our enemies and the CIA smuggling cocaine into the USA.

  8. This is perhaps the poorest article posted in a long time. REGAN bad but brought down the wall. What about Carter who gave away the Philippines and the canal. It’s as though you didn’t put any thought into this. You

    1. Thank god Carter gave away the Philippines and Panama….can you imagine another central American shithole and the WHOLE of the Philippines having access to our country like Puerto Rico? Reagan didn’t bring down the wall, he just merely let the Soviet Union die on its own, while also fighting the soviet union through proxy by training Al Qaeda and the Muhijadeen. Reagan gave 3 million illegals amnesty with hardly any strings attached, first female supreme court justice, started our modern day debt spiral, the iran contra, and worst of all, he created the boomer libertarian cuckservative. You Reagan dick suckers are unbearable. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_policy_of_the_Ronald_Reagan_administration#/media/File:Reagan_sitting_with_people_from_the_Afghanistan-Pakistan_region_in_February_1983.jpg

      1. Good stuff Wes…however “conservative” and “libertarian” are quite different…boomers love their guvment.

        1. That is why I said cuckservative….libertarians are literally conservatives who became cucks, and/or nihilistic POS. “muh, race don’t matter, muh constitution”. You are right though, there is nothing conservative about libertarians, they are just a group of defeated and demoralized whites who don’t care anymore and who just don’t want to participate in society anymore, even though that is impossible. Libertarianism is what happens when you become detribalized and diverse, and I can kind of see where it comes from, after all, I don’t want to pay high taxes to make sure foreigners can colonize our country and get welfare.

    2. The “Wall” was brought down by the failure of Communism…NOT by Reagan tripling the national debt and the Pentagon’s $500 screwdrivers as Fox/Limbaugh told you.
The Philippines became independent in 1946 when Reagan was making B-movies.
The Canal never belonged to the US, the land was rented not purchased like Alaska was.

  9. A case could be made that, starting with Mckinley, all the presidents in the past 120 years or so have all been pretty bad. (We can carve out possible exceptions for Kennedy, Eisenhower, Nixon and Reagan, and for various reasons. And even they screwed up.) The real difference is that, at least prior to 1932, the Presidency/Executive Branch was a relatively weak office. The New Deal, WWII and the Cold War changed all that.
(I’m not about to write a book on this. Just take my word for it that there are entire libraries on this topic that will tell you the same thing.)
Add most recently the rash of essentially manufactured candidates for the office – Obama was probably the most blatant, with Bush a close second – and you have the current mess with which we suffer.
And I believe it’s reaching a breaking point.
I used to say that if Hillary got in, then you’d get a civil war. And if Trump got in and, for whatever reason, didn’t deliver, then you’d get a civil war. I reckon that number is now at 50%, more if we do something stupid in Syria, meaning just about anything. (My mom says the civil war thing is not a matter of if but when. She also says that if feels just like 1938.) And as Victor Davis Hanson is happy to point out, civil wars are always the most vicious of wars.
The truth is that the United States is, as Bill Bonner likes to put it, a zombified empire. And empires always fall apart.
Wish it weren’t true, but there you go.
I like to read History, but I don’t want to live it.
    Just a thought.
    VicB3

    1. All?
Coolidge and Eisenhower were pro-USA, pro-nationalist presidents, especially Coolidge. Your all claim does not hold.
Otherwise, you have good sense. The imperialist presidency, which began with McKinley has screwed up the USA.

  10. Reagan shifted the tax burden to the working class??? WTF are you even talking about. If you’re going to write something like that it needs to be a complete sentence…
“Reagan shifted the tax burden to the working class by his policy of…” Leave the buzzfeed sentences at buzzfeed, this site is supposed to be smarter than that.

      1. Trickle can work.
But it has to be in conjunction with gutting/eliminating handouts.
And cutting off 3rd world immigration.

  11. In regards to Reagan, the spending went through the roof due to the previous administration (Carter) had left the state of the American military in a poor state.
To get the appropriate funding to get the military in a better state, he had to agree to increase the spending on welfare etc with the democrats in Congress in order to get the necessary funding for the military.
People complain about the military spending but which administration ended the Cold War again?

    1. Fox News/Rush Limbaugh have taught you well…
Tell me exactly how the military was in a “poor state” before Reagan.
      Answer: It wasn’t
Reagan was bought and paid for by “defense” contractors.
Communism failed because it’s communism…not because of Reagan’s robbing of our generation and future generations through tripling the debt and corporate welfare.
The “Cold War” was propaganda to scare us into becoming government-worshiping sheep.
Why is there so much Beta Reagan worshiping on this site?

      1. Don’t watch or listen to either of them…stereotype much?
Proof that he was bought and paid for by defense contractors?
Give me a break, next you’ll be saying the moon landing was faked for propoganda to show superiority to Mother Russia.
Military spending is essential when you want security in a free market economy between nations

  12. I would say the list should include every President since Wilson with the exception of Harding and maybe Hoover. They were all agents of the NWO and traitors to the American People.

    1. Hoover was bad. He exarcerbated the depression with tariffs and government regulation. FDR basically expanded what Hoover had started and prolonged the depression.

  13. This is a good article because it isn’t about getting poo-say or the typical bitching about our situation. History is slowing being lost to stupidity or erased by our overlords, so these are useful.
That being said there are only 3 names that matter on this list and their crimes are related. You can trace 90% of what has fucked us a society to these 3 people. Only one is mentioned in the article. One is mentioned in the comments, and the third one isn’t mentioned at all.
    1) Abraham Lincoln- He finished what James Buchanan started which was to get our nation locked into a bloody civil war. He was the first true Federal Gub’mint prez. Using the power of the armed forces to crush states’ rights and conscripting foreign mercenaries to help.
Most importantly, he only did HALF of what he was suppose to do. He freed slaves, which was a good thing. But he was 100% suppose to repatriate them to their countries of origin but lost the political will to do so. All that European blood spilled, brother against brother in some cases and you see the results today. Baltimore, Newark, Camden, Trenton, St. Louis, Chicago, etc.
    2) Woodrow Wilson- excerpt; “By December 23, 1913, when President Woodrow Wilson signed the Federal Reserve Act into law, it stood as a classic example of compromise—a decentralized central bank that balanced the competing interests of private banks and populist sentiment”. Also embroiled us in World War 1 which like WW2 was a banker’s war.
This man singlehandedly destroyed our banking system by creating the (((Federal Reserve))) which is NOT federal and reserves nothing. It is a PRIVATE BANK. Say it with me again; it is a private bank! That loans money to the United States government. This is known as usury to a sovereign power and only certain (((people))) historically could practice this ‘business’. Why we are now 20 trillion dollars in debt and drowning.
    3) Lyndon B Johnson- Railroaded the Civil Rights act of 1965 through on the back of Ted Kennedy and other early shitlib democrats. Knowing full well he would open the floodgates of the third world to this nation. You need only look around you to see the result. And just like the leftist shitlibs of today for what reason? Votes. Actual LBJ quote- “I’ll have those n!ggers voting democrat for the next 200 years!”
You reap what you sow and these 3 people had a direct hand in the destruction of the United States.

    1. Lincoln – absolutely among the worst, if not the worst.
He was a wealthy trial lawyer – bought and paid for by the railroad corporations.
Waged the war against the South because they didn’t want to pay excessive taxes to benefit Lincoln’s corporate cronies.
Sent the troops in to murder, burn, and rape civilians.
After Lincoln, there was not limit to Federal tyranny.

p.s. the triple bracket apparently is now verboten by the thought police so I subbed —word— for it, you get the idea.

    1. So Reagan creating our current debt spiral and granting 3 million illegals amnesty had nothing to do with our downfall? You know that the 1965 immigration act didn’t really bring that many foreigners in until later presidents like Reagan, Clinton, Bush, and Obama starting using it for that purpose. Sure, LBJ was a POS, but to blame most of this on him is a joke.

      1. A cannon with no fuse can never be fired. LBJ lit the fuse, whether he optioned it or not. There would have been no ‘later’ had it never been signed into law in the first place.

        1. @Apex…not really bro. LBJ just loaded the cannon, then people like Reagan aimed it at white people, lit the fuse and fired, then reloaded it with a hotter load, and fired it again and again and again. It is like handing someone a gun and giving them the potential to kill someone, and then actually killing someone. The 1965 immigration act just gave future leaders the ability to import more. That immigration bill in no way set the level of immigration, and it NEVER had anything to do with giving millions of illegals amnesty. G.H. W Bush signed the 1990 immigration act which established the DIVERSITY VISA LOTTERY, which is far more anti-white, and allows the most retarded people, like Somalian blacks, to immigrate to our nation. The 1960s and 1970s had some of the lowest immigration rates in our countries history, and it was still mostly white, immigration exploded in the 80s.

  16. Is Trump the non-insider (like Ross Perot) – a billionaire who cares and is trying to drain the swamp?
    We don’t know yet.
JFK is reputed (and stated) to be against the deep state, CIA (“will splinter into a thousand pieces”) etc…
and ended up with more holes than a Beirut bordello.
Reagan tried – got shot . obeyed his masters…
I really don’t know – or have a strong stance on any of this.
but, I am tired of the feminist/Marxist/SJW nonsense.
The flipping of pedo-face Graham from RINO – to shitposting against SJWs, and question Kasich about military tribunals –

    gives a man hope…

  17. Don’t forget Obama has incarcerated more whistleblowers than all the presidents before him combined. This fact alone puts him on my list of worst presidents. The other stuff i couldn’t give a crap about but in 2 terms Obama has effectively undone all whistleblowers laws. Just as significant as passing a law or striking out a law is the erosion of an existing law essentially making it ineffective or unenforceable. Erosion of laws is the greatest threat to democracy today; we live in a time where the “erosion of our constitution” is literally happening.

  18. There are 2 types of communists:
    1: The communists.
    2: Their useful Idiots.
if you do not go to the same clubs/private airfields/Mansions/private-schools -> you are a “useful Idiot” (don’t blame me you SJW bigots – that’s what they call you(and yes – you are a bigot if you are prejudiced against men/whites no matter what your rulers indoctrinate)).
“…Reagan…shifted the tax burden from the very wealthy to the working class.”
I assume means middle class – its a pincer movement between the elite rulers(democrats) and their useful idiots(also democrats) who are the poor(who pay no taxes), and illegal immigrants(who pay no taxes).
    “fair share” is horseshit…
Warren Buffet incites the orcs with comments such as: “Us wealthy should pay more taxes” – so asshole – you can voluntarily do so…
However, the poor thinks that means the middle class – people earning 5-6 figures..and these poor orcs want more free shit…
the taxes are a reflection on the ever increasing “FED” derived debt…somethings gotta give

  19. Woodrow Wilson caused the Great Depression through the Federal Reserve Act, not WW1. The Federal Reserve act broke the monetary system with inflation and fractional reserve lending. WW1 is the loud bang of the main explosive that gets the blame. The monetary changes are the blasting cap that made funding such a war possible.

  20. as an autodidact history buff of the 50 years who live through Johnson,Reagan, carter,Ford, nixon, bush, clinton, obama, this list is complete bullshit . its a surface reading of some liberal cliff notes book from poly sci 101. Reagan drastically reduced the RATE of spending increases and stopped the headlong rush to socialism and SJW dom that was the 60’s and 70’s. ever hear of Tipp O’neil ? the democrats controlled the congress throughout Reagans presidency and his budgets were the best he could get from them. the economy was almost destroyed by jimmy carters stupidity. Stagflation much? any list of 5 worsts that doesn’t have carter is a product of delusion and shallow understanding. He ruined everything he touched . If you didn’t live through his economy with 15% mortgage rates, 10% annual inflation and 13% unemployment , iT’s hard to understand what it was like.
Obama turned the entire federal government into a politicized weapon against mainstream America. the full horrific effects won’t be felt for a generation.
He basicly gave is third world corruption. His Trillion dollar annual “stimulus ” packages that were renewed by continuing resolution for 8 years have doubled the national debt. Just wait and see how that plays out.
W was , as the Z man says “a special kind of stupid” . His wars destroyed a mildly oppressive but secular country of Iraq, and turned into nation building in Afghanistan that is bankrupting us to this day. Afghanistan should have been a punitive war that killed Obama and all there who supported him, with rules of engagement that protected our troops and allowed the job to be done in a few months . Instead we got the unending bloody mess that still continues to bankrupt us today.
don’t forget he threw the borders completely open, allowing about 11 million illegals to enter the US on his watch. He spent the last 3 years of his presidency in a quixotic attempt at Amnesty that had him calling the GOP base ” racist” . His unpopular policies and constant vilification of the GOP base caused the GOP to lose both the house and senate. Clinton mortgage policies set in motion the forces that led to the financial crisis of 2008 , but W had 8 years to change, improve , or stop them and he did nothing . The damage that W did to this country is incaluable . His bone headed pursuit of amnesty gave the democrats an additional 10 million voters that helped them have 60 votes in the senate and a house majority . that let him pass Obamacare and confirm Keagan and Sotomayor to the supreme court. If the gop weren’t in dis-array from bus , he would have had to pick less extreme nominees to get them confirmed . His master and controller carl Rove sold the GOP to the cheap labor / neocon lobby that Is still in control of it today . Roves power and control of the donor money has led to the worst possible republicans being elected in many Red states that should be sending The best. Trumps election was a protest against this by the base.
He left office with a 29% approval rating because republicans hated him too. He is so hated by his own party that his equally moronic Brother JEB! couldn’t win a single primary delegate after spending an unheard of $150 mill. ( thanks karl rove) in the early primary.
personally, I would say W, Obama, carter, Wilson , FDR would be the worst 5 with LBJ and Buchanan as runners up.

  21. How is Ronald Reagan on this list and not Jimmy Carter or LBJ? Reagan did cut taxes but doubled tax revenue during his 8 years and spawned a 25 year almost uninterrupted economic expansion. Don’t tell me things would have been even close under Carter. Reagan is one of the top 5 best, not worst. Government creates and exacerbates problems rather than solves them. Look at our inner cities since LBJ.

  22. You left the worst president ever off your list. Lincoln was not only the worst president ever, he was the worst tyrant to ever walk the face of the earth.

  23. Abraham Lincoln fits your criteria (and mine for that matter) for being one of the worst. LBJ was also one of the worst; I’m a little surprised you didn’t include him.

  24. That list is horrible.
    The worst president: Barack Obama
Terrible presidents: James Madison, Abraham Lincoln, William McKinley, Woodrow Wilson, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman, Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard Nixon, George H. W. Bush, George W. Bush
While James Buchanan and Ronald Reagan were bad presidents, Harding was OK and Andrew Johnson was good. Andrew kept the Republicans in check, a radical lot, who sought to punish Southerners excruciatingly so. Johnson worked to quickly restore the union.
Harding gets a bad rap about petty corruption in his administration, but living was fairly good for most Americans during his time.
Reagan was a bad president because 1) he signed amnesty into law, which has led to unprecedented illegal immigration; 2) he signed MLK holiday into law, a man unworthy of a federal / national holiday; 3) he agreed to massive tax increases every year after his signing into law the massive lowering of marginal tax rates, which was right to do.
See why: U.S. PRESIDENTS, THEIR PARTIES AND THE FAILURES OF TODAY’S PRESIDENTS – TRUE DOLLAR JOURNAL

  25. all pale in comparison with the Bill the Pedo Clinton….that scumbag was the lowest of the low

  26. “Buchanan is often considered one of the worst because he did very little to prevent the southern states from seceding in the lead-up to the civil war. ”
Buchanan was the last president of the Constitutional Republic. The Republic was founded by sovereign States confederated together as “these United States” for the common good and defense.
As such, Buchanan knew that the States had freely entered the compact, and could freely leave it – which they did.
Lincoln destroyed the Constitutional Republic turning it into an imperial government ruling over the States at the point of a bayonet.
Buchanan is to be honored and applauded as a President true to his oath. The breakup of the United States was not his fault, and he did his best to avoid it.

  27. I think Buchanan gets a bad rap as being the guy who “caused the civil war” or “let the civil war happen”.
First off he thought it was his role to stay out of the affairs of the states. Believe it or not, politicians used to read the Constitution and follow it. Not just get involved with everything because “we have to do something”.
Secondly it was still an open question at the time if it was legal for a state to leave the union. The constitution provides no “escape clause” (other then perhaps an amendment allowing a state out) and many men of the day thought if a state was sovereign and entered the federation voluntarily then it also had an implicit right to leave the federation as a sovereign entity.
Lastly, the causes that led up to the civil war had been simmering for decades (perhaps since the founding of the Republic) and war was almost inevitable unless the North states dropped or severely moderated the abolition cause or just let the Southern states leave. If war was going to happen even the most activist President couldn’t have done anything to stop it short of this.

  28. George W. Bush was stupid and easily manipulated by the elite. Other than that, he was just your run-of-the-mill Republican president who served the oil industry, the military-industry complex, and the uber-rich that got tax cuts from him.
Obama was a respectable president. Educated, erudite, well-mannered. He had a keen intellect and understood the complexities of our society and economy and took action in an informed way to address the issues he was facing. Thanks to him, he patiently nursed our collapsing economy back to health using time-tested approaches.
Trump is not the populist he purported to be on the campaign trail. He lied and told people whatever they wanted to hear, but without being specific (e.g., everyone will have great healthcare). So far, it is obvious that Trump is a flawed narcissist and a pathological liar. His cabinet is the richest in modern times. The people he chooses to run our government agencies our not only completely unqualified, where the only qualification they bring is that they are rich (e.g, Betsy DeVos), but also corrupt and work to derail the mission of those agencies (Education Department that promotes privatization, an FDA that actually reduces oversight and control, and so on). Basically, he’s staffing our government agencies with criminals from the private sector whose goal is to render our agencies useless at best, and counterproductive at worst. What’s more, he has a a history of dealings with Russian criminals, money laundering, and all kinds of other real estate scams, and also a list of entanglements with prostitutes, immoral lawyers, and other scum of the earth. I really wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he, just like the rest of his family, proved to be a fraud. I know you guys like him and think he can do no wrong, but this is the truth.
What happened to the Republican party that was all about family values, decency, and low national debt? It appears they have no problem with adultery, corruption, and more debt spending. The Republican party would be O.K. with fascism if it could get away with it, and is only hiding behind the thin veneer of democracy. In the meantime, we’re stuck with a massing poor-to-rich money transfer, more wars, more deregulation and an erosion of our freedoms and protections, more national debt, and reckless handling of our economy at a time when government spending should be decreased and taxes increased to prepare a rainy-day fund for the next recession.

    1. Obama is erudite and a communist. His mentor is the communist terrorist Bill Ayers(guys look up his videos re killing 20million of us unreeducatables). All institutions are infested with them. He is the darling of the leftist media.
Betsy Devos and her brother Eric Prince are, hopefully, bringing the flame throwers…
“The long march thru the institutions” is long completed…

  29. ‘What’s more, he was notorious for spending his time playing golf and poker when he should’ve been doing president stuff.’
Well, I’m not american, so I could be biased.
Truth is I’d love to see your President’s all playing golf and poker, it sounds hilarious, though potentially very expensive.

  30. Lincoln was a tyrant. Slavery was only a major point of articles of secession for South Carolina and Mississippi; the war was mostly about northern states (manufacturing aka non-essential) draining the economies of southern states (farming aka essential) and getting rid of slavery at the time would have severely damaged the nation’s economy. This doesn’t even include the fact that northerners were killing southern citizens for owning slaves in a shortsighted plan. Nixon turned the US dollar into a fiat currency which historically causes the destruction of nations. Obama did what he came to do but let the war in the middle east drag on. Harding ultimately did very little and though he was kind of a dick it doesn’t matter much since almost no country had a decent economy at that point anyways. This is just naming a few but yeah shit article.

  31. The author is a fag attacking Reagan jimmy carter was a dipshit pussy and obama is a raghead Kenyan easily the two worst

  32. the worst, hands down, is Bill the goatfucker/muzzy helper/pedo freak Clinton
    and his demon family
thats when the evil really took over usa

  33. We’ll all be living in caves after everything is outlawed, but then you can be sure that living in caves will soon be banned in order to protect endangered bats.

  34. It’s safe to assume every president from here on out is going to be compromised and pozzed.
The whole system has to be cleansed and reset.

  35. Not giving Reagan credit for not knocking out the Soviet Union is silly and biased the only problem was Saddam Hussein used the same tactic on us and it worked. The USSR believed Reagan’s bullshit about that space and laser defense aka “Star Wars” and the radical spending on the military that an invasion or attack was imminent and there was nothing they could do about it. They spent billions they did not have on their own military and it eventually led to their economic downfall which they are still pissed off about especially towards Ukraine. Saddam stole Reagan’s idea and fooled Bush and the intelligence agencies that he had “WMD’s” so the same thing that makes you laugh makes you cry.
Lincoln not being on your list almost warrants removal of the article ANY President who suspends Habeas Corpus to wage war on Americans is a tyrant.

  36. Your misunderstanding of how taxation works, and the response of the rich to it, is profound. When income taxes are high, the wealthy reduce their tax burden by moving their money to market segments where the proceeds won’t be taxed as ‘income.’ And capital moved to these wealth preservation markets becomes unavailable for reinvestment and market growth.
So heavier taxation on the rich invariably motivates them to make their wealth unavailable to the greater market. Which contracts the cash supply available to the middle and lower classes and that contraction causes interest rates to rise. Which shifts the financial burden to the middle and lower classes (who are far more likely to borrow for personal needs) and stifles business creation and growth. Interest rates and inflation both were double-digits under Carter, so bad that economists created a new financial tool they called the “Misery Index” to represent how bad Carter had made the economy. So heavier taxation on the wealthy has a more negative impact to the other classes than on the intended targets.
Reagan’s tax policy turned that around and precipitated a financial boom that was felt around the globe for two decades (when the US economy sneezes, the entire world catches cold). It arguably was the greatest period of prosperity the world had ever seen. Because low income taxes motivated the rich to make their money available for the lower classes to borrow. Which fosters increased entrepreneurship. During the Reagan years, more Americans (per capita) moved from the fifth quintile of the economic spectrum to the first quintile than under any other administration in US history. That one statistic alone puts the lie to your claim that Reagan contributed to an “ever-increasing rich-poor wage gap.”
Reagan’s defense policy also was key to the collapse of the Soviet Union. The USSR was spending 40% of its GDP just to match the military strength increase the US was netting from just 6% of it GDP. Which brought the Cold War to an end. Which, truth be told, was WWIII, but because of the destructive power the weapons they had created were capable of, the two principles deftly avoided direct contact with each other and the conflict was prosecuted entirely by proxy. The Soviets actually had a term for their proxy allies: monkeys. The military hardware they built to sell to their puppet states were called “monkey tanks” and “monkey planes” because they were of a lesser quality that what the USSR built for its own use.

  37. Reagan outsourced America and signaled the end of Labor when he sacked the PATCO workers. We are a banana republic, no middle class, all globalism.

  38. Trump’s reputation is already tarnished. The Russians (which are the enemies of true American patriots) helped in getting him elected.

  39. **another soyboy article**
    ======================
-Truman is not on the list

-Reagan is one of the worst
    -While Jimmy Carter is not
    -And Woodrow Wilson is
not on the list because of
    the IRS and women’s vote
    entryism claims another

  40. If Trump is considered the worst President then everyone who has been President is his equal.
The only thing I disagree with you on and I don’t know why people keep calling the sodomite Nerogro “President” when he never was one. Constitutionally he cannot be a considered a President but an impostor or usurper.
I’m surprised you do not know this and keep pushing their narrative he was one debunking our Constitution as “just a piece of paper”. I hope you realize that.

  41. Definitely President Obama was one of the worst Presidents ever. Just compare him to the gem of the man that serves in the white house now Donald J Trump. I mean there was Obama having affairs with pornstars all those sexual allegations of abuse gainst him. He could care less about the me-too movement it’s all about the me me me all about me movement for him. How about how he is so in love with Vladimir Putin I mean even dissing our country in front of the world and Vladimir Putin. I mean Obama just had this Bromance that with Vlad. Of course with Russia helping get Obama elected and then him bashing our law making institutions the FBI the justice department he just couldn’t get along with anybody he had to fire everybody or get people to fire people for him and he was always tweeting like an adolescent I mean what kind of president has such little respect for just about everything except himself. He couldn’t laugh at himself couldn’t make jokes and he doesn’t like dogs. I mean I’m sorry but when someone doesn’t like dogs especially our president that’s a red flag right there!!!!!Obama loved to brag because big of his tax breaks that were you know supposed to help the middle class not really you know the wealthy people out there kind of made out. He even fought with our allies oh my gosh Obama could not get along with our allies when he went overseas you know it wasn’t like he was treated like a rockstar or anything or that everybody loved him. There was always protests wherever Obama went overseas. He just was always causing trouble that Obama thank God that Donald J Trump is nothing like that! He is such a Statesman and honorable, respectful, good person yep that’s Donald J Trump for you that’s not President Barack Obama I’m talking about people… no I’m not don’t even even think I am I’m talking about Obama. It’s the Donald go Donald!!!!! Woo woo woo!!! Believe me there’s a lot more I could say but this is already pretty long darn that Obama!
