Dozens of fights broke out on the streets of downtown San Jose on Thursday night as police in riot gear struggled to keep the peace between hundreds of protesters and streams of Donald Trump fans leaving his rally at the city’s convention center.
Protesters jumped on cars, while others burned red “Make America Great” hats and took selfies with the charred remains. Demonstrators waved Mexican flags as Trump supporters shouted at them to “go back to Mexico.”

At the height of the biggest and most violent political protest San Jose has seen in decades, hundreds of people clashed with police and Trump supporters. One young woman was struck in the forehead by a flying metal parking barricade, and police were pelted with traffic cones and water bottles.
Police helicopters circled overhead for more than two hours, commanding the crowds to disperse, while police from numerous Bay Area agencies marched through the heart of downtown San Jose, containing protesters along Park Avenue, Almaden Boulevard and San Carlos Street.

Earlier, inside the convention hall, Trump supporters chanted “Build that wall, build that wall,” as the candidate repeated his call to erect a concrete wall on the border with Mexico.
During the rally, Trump was uncharacteristically tempered with two protesters who made it inside the hall, including one who stood near the front of the crowd holding a Bernie Sanders sign.
“Darling,” Trump said, “there’s no way he can win, but keep your sign high.”
Exactly who was involved in the violence outside and where they were from remains unclear, but numerous members of the crowd were Latinos from East San Jose who said they opposed the violence and condemned Trump for touting racism.

People can legally assemble and listen to Donald Trump, and people can peacefully protest Trump’s speech; however, it is not okay for them to assault people who attended Trump’s rally, and it’s not okay for them to block the entrances and assemble on the roads.
The problem is that the left has become increasingly violent, committing criminal actions, and the state either stands by and does nothing, passively condones it, or outright supports it. And because the left has the state on its side, they’re going to continue to inhibit others’ freedoms. So, yea, at the end of the day, it’s not all about free speech, it’s more about reestablishing those guidelines so that one group isn’t given free reign to assault another.

When I am spending time with my dad, we often get into “violent” discussions, too, to the point of screaming at each other and calling each other idiots. But at the same time there usually is still a mutual respect underneath … like when you fight at the martial arts gym. You put all your effort into defeating the opponent, but it is respectful – because it is consensual, perhaps. There is little hatred involved. When I see those people, though, there is no respect. So I might say it is cool to play a game of wanting to crush somebody, as long as and to the extent that their own boundaries allow that game. The way I used the term “crush” there is to want to crush somebody way beyond their boundaries and leave them devastated. In a sense, it is not even a game. It is a gamble. You go in, putting all your expectations into winning, but not allowing for yourself to lose. If that makes sense to you.

The short story is that I was on a first date and everything was alright until she started whimsically talking about politics (as if she could take it for granted that I agreed with her views). When the subject came to justice, I told her that I had quite the affinity for one of the Classical conceptions of justice and its simplicity, that is, “Help your friends and harm your enemies.” Then I was suddenly reminded of a poem by Archilochus, which tied in perfectly to the conversation. I looked at her in earnest and leaned in while rhapsodizing and wagging my pointer finger at her, “One main thing I understand in this world–to come back with deadly evil against the one who has caused me harm.” She was speechless for a moment and looked disturbed. She lurched back in discomfort, then she suddenly excused herself and went to the restroom for about five minutes. At first I was wondering if she’d left, but her purse was still on the chair; then I smirked to myself while thinking, “Now I’ve gone and done it. I’ve made the poor girl shit herself.” When she got back she did not confirm for me that she had actually dropped the kids off at the pool, but it seemed to me that she had. I’ll let you guess if there was a second date even though she seemed eager to drive me home and request one.

This did wonders for my relationship with my own father–partly because he knew I’d beat the piss out of him if he accepted, but also because he realized that perhaps there were some boundaries that he shouldn’t cross when dealing with me. Yeah, I guess that could make some difference. I definitely outclassed my dad at the time in fitness, size and strength. He’s a trained and accomplished fighter, and at the time he mentioned this to discourage me from pursuing the fight, but still I think I would have whomped him pretty good if he accepted the challenge. For both our sakes, I’m grateful that he balked and instead chose to give me the respect I was demanding. I’ve reaped numerous benefits from our relationship ever since, and so has he.
As an aside, I didn’t plan on challenging him. It was a natural thing and it had been building since I was a child (when he could throw his weight around and use the threat of violence to get what he wanted). We were arguing about something stupid and then he suddenly turned to his old standby ( threat of violence) and I welcomed the opportunity.
It went something like this, “Yeah, keep it up and I’ll whip you like a dog.” Then I laughed and said, “Why all the talk? Let’s do this. I’ll break your ass down.” He laughed as if I were just bullshitting, then I said, “No, I’m serious. I’ve been waiting for this day since I was a kid; let’s do it. I’ll buy some boxing gloves and we can go out back and handle this. I’ve been wanting to beat your ass for some time now.”
When he realized that I was serious, he became noticeably frightened and he disengaged with some comment about how he still had some tricks up his sleeve from the old days and how he could still whip me if he wanted to. My final laugh and insistence on seeing him prove it carried the day. In the end, I made it clear that the option of a set fight would remain on the table whenever he was ready.
My thinking is that this moment in a father’s life is something that they secretly crave, even if they ultimately end up whipping their son. If you did fight your dad (not in a fit of rage, but as a set match), and he happened to kick your ass, would you think that you’re any worse off than before? I imagine it would be a humbling experience for him and you as well, and in typical fashion the fight could repair some of the rifts that occurred over the years. Fighting is often underestimated as a bonding tool between males. Most importantly, it teaches opponents to respect one another (and themselves), regardless of the outcome. I sense that most fathers ultimately want their sons to stand up to them at some point and they will egg and push until they achieve their goal. Being ready for the confrontation is crucial, but when the time comes I’m sure it will seem natural like striking someone back after they’ve provoked and struck you. If sons never stood up to their fathers, then we’d all just be kids.
There’s an old Jewish saying where even God is proud of a Jew who has taken a stand against him. God says something like, “You have bested me and I have been waiting for this moment. I am proud of you; what father doesn’t hope for his sons to surpass him?”

The major state-level policy effects which have current generalized negative fallout on everyday life in California are related to water and irrigation, and that’s hardly a partisan issue. It could get seriously out of hand to where we see large sieges.

It is already clear the police will do little to curb the violence so the Trump supporters will either have to take the matter into their own hands or accept that they will most likely be attacked and beaten. If the vigilante groups are well trained and organized, they might be able to get a few swift victories on the protestors and discourage them from their usual antics in the future. What a “victory” looks like could be many things and not necessarily violent. I could see them doing things similar to what bikers did for funerals being protested by the Westborough Baptist Church (lining up and blocking the view to keep them from disturbing the funerals).

Greeting guys, I enjoy reading all the topics in this site and this one about the stupid mexicans living in U.S and Trump caught my attention more since this is something that you don’t see in the U.S media so I decided to make my 1st post. I’m from Mexico, lol nope, I’m not a narco lol and I agree with you guys about the narrative of the U.S media and about these stupid people doing that on Trump rallys .
Some news shows in the U.S and on youtube like The young turks for example, will tell a story with outrage if a police officer in North America shots down a black person and label it racist as well but if a Allahu Akbar person kills a person or 10 people for any stupid reason, they will label it as an isolated case or they will say that the person was not sane but they will not blame the Allahu Akbar religion, they will say that the catholic religion or christians did the same in the crusades or some stupid shit like that to make it seen like they are worse but never say the things for what they are regarding this cases.
Here in Mexico, the mentality of the mayority of the Mexicans is, if it’s regarding a topic of el presidente stealing money from the country to buy a yatch for her daughter as a sweet fifteen present, most mexican will not care since it’s very often that our politicians do shit like that, if for any reason, there’s people requesting answers, our goverment will do either 2 things, ask the Zetas to kill them or and this is true guys, don’t laugh please lol, announce through the govement’s TV station (Televisa) that the Mexican soccer team is going to play a friendly vs Guatemala or El Salvador or some soccer team to change the subject and switch the attention of the mexicans to that match lol (yup, it’s true) and the cool part is that they will play on U.S ground for that match so they can get dollars instead of pesos from the stupid people willing to pay to see that match live.
You see guys, with that, you can see that the mindset of the majority of the mexicans is fucked up. Some will defend their mexican soccer team with passion even though they don’t win for shit, my point is that the priorities of the mexican people are fucked up. Here in Mexico, the tv news stations don’t say much about what Trump says except when he says that he will build a wall and that mexico is going to pay for it, that’s when some mexicans will speak, not all of them because for the most part, we don’t give a shit about those types of topics, but when there a topics were we have groups of people that are missing or killed by the goverment, only a minority of people will speak, we go back to the beginning, the priorities of the mexican people are fucked up.
Granted, some of the mexicans that go to North America, do so to get any job and are honest people. I could say the same for any American living on another country as well but we also have some stupid ass mexicans going to your country U.S illegally and then, they get mad at your goverment for getting caught and deported, or even worse, some Illegal mexicans go to the U.S, they breed, they don’t learn your language and after that, they get caught doing some stupid ass shit and get reported. Not only mexicans do it also tho, people from guatemala, salvador or poorer countries do so but since they all speak spanish, they are all mexicans in your eyes which is fine, they still enter U.S soil illegally.
In my case, i only like your country to buy stuff that I don’t find here in Mexico or go to Six flags, your parks are awesome. Don’t get me wrong guys, I’m not saying this to attack you or your country, what I don’t like about your country is that is very expensive to live there, not because of the lack of money but what I’m trying to say is that for example if you get sick, you have to deal with an insurance company first and you require a major procedure, even honest american people have died because of the insurance not “covering” the expensive procedure. Here in mexico, we have 100% healthcare that gets deducted from our salaries each week so even if we need a procedure that is very expensive, we get covered and don’t pay a peso. In the U.S, if you want to buy a house, you need to deal with the mortgage if you don’t have the cash upfront, here in mexico, by working and keeping the job, we have Infonavit so that give us the right to select a house and pay it each week with our salary. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not boasting about the things that we have and you don’t have, your economy is more stable than ours and we have to thank that to our corrupt politicians as well.
I know, I’m an isolated case you may think, but the mexican people that for the most part do the stupid shit like the ones in this article, attacking other people for what they think or do like these Trump’s rallies, these are the kind of mexicans that 1st, they don’t live in Mexico at all (obviously), they celebrate 5 de Mayo in the U.S (which is a “Mexican” holiday for fucks sake and we mexicans, we don’t give a shit about it), they most likely are part of a gang of latinos (like Trump said, not the best mexicans), they just go to these rallies to have a laugh and they don’t really think about the whole picture of what Trump is saying. These guys are from Mexican parents that entered to the U.S most of the time illegally when they were kids and they didn’t care to legalize their migratory status, they get caught doing some stupid shit and then get deported (againt, not the best ones).
Myself, I think that Trump’s policies about immigracion are valid for the most part according to what I read in his campaign webpage (lol the wall part tho is not going to be paid by the mexican goverment, heck! our politicians will most likely steal that money for themselves lol) but at the end of the day, if he gets elected (most likely for what I’ve seen) it’s his country and he can do what he wants regarding immigration reforms if you as american citizens allow it.
These idiots don’t realise that when they protest Trump in that manner, they are actually protesting democracy. They’re acting like Trump is running on a dictatorship platform. He obviously is not and the only legitimate thing these thugs can do is to vote for another candidate. If they can even be bothered to vote, that is.

Exactly Mccoy, I’ve never heard or read anything that says that Trump is not allowing Mexicans or any other latin american person to enter U.S soil. What I hear and read is that if they (we) are going to enter the U.S., we need to do it legally so we can pay taxes if we request U.S residency or even a work visa, but the media is not saying that and that’s what keeps me amazed in some way.
Those “Mexican” f*cktards that are doing that shit in those videos, they don’t even care about the topic at hand, they are just doing this to do “desmadre” like we say in Mexico (they are doing it for the lolz) and what is amazing to me is that your police is not doing shit. I was at the event with my young son and several elderly attendees. What I saw was more an opportunity for the police to show off and collect overtime and media crews encouraging a bunch of Mexican kids to act up for the cameras. I didn’t feel at all unsafe there, except maybe from a rogue cop.
