We have 30000 troops defending south korea and tens of thousands in NATO bases defending germany. italy, uk, etc. We also have tons of bases in Japan, Australia, and the Gulf. They fight their own battles not like the EU where we defended them for deaces and at great cost against the Soviets and now Russia.
      2 Isreal provides the best testing for our military equipment. Often US weapons like the F15 and the F16 are used in battle for the first tie by the Isrealis.
      3 THe military grant we give comes back to buy US jet fighters so its a subsidy to the defense companies.
      4 Last but not least, we are actually starting to buy from the Isrealis military systems hi tech weapons so I think DJT is right.

I don’t believe anyone thought that it was a move that would have gone through without any push back from the middle east, and the UN did vote against acknowledging it. 26. I have to admit, the jury is still completely out on the Trump Presidency, and I myself am quite confused from an intellectual and academic sense. This is mostly because I don’t have the information to truly know what is going on. I’m sure I would have strong opinions if I had the information that certain senators, or the President himself has. But my take on it thus far is that Trump sees some major advantage to continuing to ally ourselves strongly with Isreal. And my guess is that he sees that advantage as more of an advantage to himself then to America. But you know what they see. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
    High level business includes a lot, and I mean a lot, of politics. This may be a game he’s played before. My guess is that he’s supporting Isreal because Trump doesn’t do anything half assed. He was pressured by lobbyists and the media to make a decision one way or the other. Either Isreal is our friend, or he’d be painted as making Isreal a foe, just like Obama did.
    I believe there was a huge percentage of American’s that didn’t like the way Obama treated Isreal. Now, these American’s are mostly asleep, I’d say, but Trump had to make a choice. And when he chose to claim support for Isreal, he decided to go in 100% with this gambit, because that’s what Trump does.
    Now, if you are going to support Isreal, and you are the leader of the still most powerful country in the world, and make no mistake, we still have the most powerful militaries and largest economy, for now; why would you let anyone push you around. All he did was refuse to sign an executive order that was postponing an act of congress. Every President since Clinton signed this order every 6 months to prevent the Embassy from going to Jeruselum.
    So all Trump did was comply with a law that Congress passed decades ago. He decided to abide by the constitution and let Congressional law rule where it should. This is not really as big a support for Isreal as the media makes it seem. He simply refused to raise his pen.
    He’s also refusing to back down to other countries bullying us. It’s silly to paint America as the bully for putting our embassy where we want. It is not the business of any country other than America and Isreal, where our embassy goes in Isreal.
    This move does not mean that any other country in the world needs to put their embassy in Isreal. Every other country is allowed to disagree with us if they want. They are the bullies for trying to use the UN to force America to keep the Embassy in Tel-Aviv.

She basically said, we are a sovereign nation, and no other nation will dictate what we do in our sovereign affairs. If the UN wants to right all it’s own rules, then other countries need to kick in more money. This is fantastic news for the US.

48. Don’t fret. The Donald knows what he’s doing. Recognizing Jerusalem was a genius move – it makes the Two State Solution that much more impossible to implement (which it pretty much is already).
    It will soon become undeniable that the only solution is the One State Solution, where all the Occupied Territories are recognized as part of Israel. But this means all the Palestinian inhabitants will become full Israeli citizens, and be able to vote.
