Ebola Volunteers Nancy Writebol And Ken Brantly Are Cowards

If you haven’t been living under a rock lately, you’ve probably heard about the deadly Ebola virus being brought (willingly) on to American soil; so maybe it’s time to start living under a rock and freak out like everybody else in the country.

Sarcasm aside, the deadly strain has made it on to American soil for the first time – at least knowingly. Two doctors who were helping to fight the spread of the disease in Africa were both stricken with it, and over the past week have been transported by a special quarantine jet to Atlanta – a city with a population of nearly 500,000 people.

First, What Is Ebola?

Ebola virus disease (EVD) or Ebola hemorrhagic fever (EHF) is the human disease caused by the Ebola virus. Symptoms typically start two days to three weeks after contracting the virus, with a fever, sore throat, muscle pains, and headaches. Typically nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea follow, along with decreased functioning of the liver and kidneys. At this point, some people begin to have bleeding problems.

Signs and symptoms of Ebola usually begin suddenly with a flu-like stage characterized by fatigue, fever, headaches, and joint, muscle, and abdominal pain. Vomiting, diarrhea and loss of appetite are also common. Less common symptoms include the following: sore throat, chest pain, hiccups, shortness of breath and trouble swallowing. The average time between contracting the infection and the start of symptoms is 8 to 10 days, but it can vary between 2 and 21 days. Skin manifestations may include a maculopapular rash (in about 50% of cases).Early symptoms of EVD may be similar to those of malaria, dengue fever, or other tropical fevers, before the disease progresses to the bleeding phase.

Bleeding

In the bleeding phase, internal and subcutaneous bleeding may present itself through reddening of the eyes and bloody vomit. Bleeding into the skin may create petechiae, purpura, ecchymoses, and hematomas (especially around needle injection sites).

All people infected show some symptoms of circulatory system involvement, including impaired blood clotting.Bleeding from puncture sites and mucous membranes (e.g. gastrointestinal tract, nose, vagina and gums) is reported in 40–50% of cases. Types of bleeding known to occur with Ebola virus disease include vomiting blood, coughing it up or blood in the stool. Heavy bleeding is rare and is usually confined to the gastrointestinal tract. In general, the development of bleeding symptoms often indicates a worse prognosis and this blood loss can result in death.

Okay, so obviously it’s not a pretty thing. The The Hot Zone is an excellent read about the virus, albeit it is exaggerated a bit for cinematic effect.

The debate across America is whether this is safe or not.  The two doctors will either live or die, hopefully Emory and the CDC learn valuable information about Ebola, and that will be it. Our sanitation and health care abilities are light years ahead of the countries Ebola is currently rampaging through.

Truthfully, everything will probably be fine.

Morals Of The Doctors

The two doctors, Nancy Writebol and Kent Brantly, made the decision to risk their lives in hopes of saving people in Africa. While it seems a reasonable question why we continue to help countries that are routinely a money sink and provide no value in return – there are people whom are far more giving, caring, and brave than I am.

Supposedly, Writebol and Brantly were among this crowd. In reality, they’re cowards.

When a soldier enlists in the military, and enters an active warzone – can he turn his back on his fellow men and run back to American soil on the first available plane?

Absolutely not.

Writebol and Brantley, as medical professionals, certainly knew the risks associated with their decision to combat Ebola head-on. They knew they were going to countries with less-than-stellar medical care, and hot conditions that make wearing the necessary Ebola-protected spaceman suit extremely difficult to cope with. They knew they would have a chance to be infected by Ebola.

Finally, they knew that they had a relatively low chance of survival should they contract it (various sources place it somewhere between 60-90%).

Where Are The Medical Ethics?

I will say this again – this will probably end, good or bad, in the Atlanta hospital with Writebol and Brantley. These are the best professionals in the world, and America has kept Ebola in vials for years in America – and people aren’t kneeling over and hemorrhaging blood.

But even the slightest chance of spreading the disease should have been enough for their moral red flags to fly. As a doctor, their job is to save people, not potentially put thousands at risk. Despite the chance to study Ebola closer, and perhaps develop a cure, it is not worth the slight risk to America.

They made their choice, and their bed.

From an ethical standpoint – Nancy Writebol and Kent Brantly should have been left in Africa to bleed in it.

  1. Good point. However, please read the damn article yourself at least once before posting. You mixed up the survival rate with the fatality rate and Nancy Writebol is a missionary, not a doctor.

    1. I wonder if the stupid old sow has her own children to worry about? No she has he luxury of worrying about strangers and places their comfort about the safety of her own countrymen. Bitch ought have had a dozen grandchildren to care for.

    2. He also said Atlanta has 500k people. Metropolitan Atlanta has over 5M people. Prooreading, gents.

    1. At least Coulter doesn’t think these Charity cases in Africa are essentially an evolutionary dead end.

    2. Ann Coulter is right: too many churches just flat out ignored their communities turning away from god, even their kids turning away from good, while they spent money they didn’t have in far away places.
And the reasons they spent the money in Africa instead of Home are essentially status whoring and cowardice to oppose cultural Marxism.

      1. I agree.
I know a local church who helped send a couple of missionaries to Guatemala for two weeks. I used to work in Guatemala in a non-humanitarian capacity, which put me in the unique position (around here, anyway) of knowing the actual situation on the ground there, and familiarity with the area they visited.
When the couple got back, they were attention whoring flat out. It was as if Jesus had descended and worked miracles through their hands. To listen to them talk, they were like Marco Polo.
The reality is that all those church donations to “save the brown people!” were used to send a couple of spoiled, wealthy Baby Boomers on a two week vacation to the third world, during which time they had three great meals a day, nice accomodations, and a security detail. They never even went to the areas that were truly fucked up. They had a nice holiday on the coast and gave a check to some local charity.
Meanwhile, this couple had a son who was addicted to opiates and robbing houses and shit to get his fix. Their church was full of young whores and degenerates. This was in 2009, and there were many people in their own community who were losing their jobs, houses, etc.

        1. Children! Children! Watch your mouth or you will get the old soap bar…. so mature, so grown up! Wow! It is the perfect example of the lovely quote… a slam dunk, ‘You don’t have to disrespect and insult others simply
to hold your own ground. If you do, that shows how shaky your own
          position is.’

    3. These doctors and especially Bill Gates’ extremely foolish initiatives are exploding the African population in countries that don’t have the resources to support an exploding African population are not helping anybody but are creating conditions for future conflict.
This means a big war and/or massive African invasion into the west or both are inevitable.

      1. I think Bill Gates initiatives will ultimately destroy the African population. Isn’t he pushing toxic food on these people?

        1. Gates is pretty big into eugenics and has flat out stated that population control is one of the desired effects of all the vaccinations they’re doing over there. Sterility is a possible side effect of many vaccines. He also owns a large amount of stock in Monsanto, so it stands to reason he’s gonna push that crap wherever he can.

        2. Citation needed!
I can make up a lot of stuff you “supposedly” said as well.

        3. So basically they are utilizing all those selfless devoted missionaries who only care about The Lord and the welfare of poor black children as veritable Judas goats in order to practice eugenics, population control, and perhaps a bit of low-cost pharmaceutical research on the indigenous African populations along the way. How lovely.

      2. Maybe that’s why Bill Gates and George Soros are funding that bio weapons lab at Kenema ? To balance things out so to speak…..

  2. Cecil Rhodes got it right. If he’d been listened to there would be more of us in Africa today than there are in Europe and America combined.

    1. What did Cecil Rhodes get right? I was under the impression that he was a serious scumbag.

        1. I think that Tru Dat is referring to Rhodes’s genocidal recommendation to wipe out blacks south of the Zambezi River and resettle the area with white commercial farmers and other settlers. Not so much Fabian as Genocidal-Imperialist.

  3. Doctors are not like military men or women. These primates are trained to accept they will be happy to be used as pawns in foreign policy decisions. The doctors dont have this drilled into their heads and if they had would they still be so compassionate?
Its an interesting argument that needs to be had for anyone else thinking of doing humanitarian work in the region.

  4. Africa was destroyed by the IMF and the west. Asserting that the US is dumping money into Africa and getting nothing in return is beyond ludicrous.
You are most likely one of those libertarian faggots who claim they are anti violence yet they not only want to deny healthcare to American doctors who contracted a disease but also cheer when a bunch of circumcised prozac heads return from massacring people in Iraq.

    1. Africans give nothing in return. The ground under their feet OTOH is bountiful. The people who have multiplied (because of antibiotics etc etc) have rarely proven able to exploit that mineral and agricultural wealth. They constantly regress into squalor and bare subsistence without some do-gooder or whip cracker pushing the issue.

      1. Africa is a veritable gold mine of natural resources (gold, precious stones, oil, minerals, etc.). Its more of a case that they give a lot and get nothing in return.

        1. The land gives. The people there, not so much. They failed to copy the Dung Beetle and develop the wheel. How many millions of years watching the industrious little bug roll shit around and not one of em realized the potential?

        2. They do wear cool feathers and make neat ebony masks though. Makes me want to go native at times, just for the raw primal thrill of it.

    2. I’m glad someone finally mentioned the IMF, as they are (along with the World Bank) one of the biggest purveyors of misery in third world countries. Economic hitmen have destroyed Africa and South America for decades, but hey, it’s easier and more convenient to blame the citizens for these countries being shit holes.

  5. They had better keep this damn thing contained, because if it gets out on our soil it will be a nightmare. I’m vaguely reminded of that “Outbreak” movie with Sean Penn.

        1. Well not to worry. If it breaks out in Atlanta we can quarantine the city and napalm everything that moves.

    1. They damn well better lol! I’m in GA and am only about 26 minutes away from Emory. Anything goes wrong, I’m fucked lol.

    2. The good people of Hong Kong released a much more educational and medically accurate “documentary” of such an outbreak under the title “Ebola Syndrome” back in 1996. Read the synopsis and marvel at the sheer genius behind this veritable cinematic masterpiece.

  6. “When a soldier enlists in the military, and enters an active warzone –
can he turn his back on his fellow men and run back to American soil on
    the first available plane?”
Like when they are wounded in action?

    1. Unless they have contracted a deadly disease…after knowingly and voluntarily exposed themselves to said disease.
(Especially when their ostentatious Altruism that resulted in the infection is misplaced do-gooder bullshit.)

    2. Ok, you believe it’s worse for 2 Americans to die from untreatable Ebola in Africa than for 2 Americans to die from untreatable Ebola in the USA and endanger the lives of millions more Americans dying from untreatable Ebola ?
      That equation doesn’t add up.
Nice emotional response to the real world. I suggest that you have a damaged amygdala.

  7. First off, Africa is not the money sink you imagine it to be. A few million bucks seems like a lot of money to a 22 year old kid, but it’s not. It’s a drop in the bucket and we get billions (with a B) worth of economic activity out of Africa as a result. Diamonds, copper, the rare earth metals that make your computer/smartphone/tablet/everything work… Did you ever wonder where that stuff comes from? You think we’re mining tanzanite in California?!
Leaving Americans behind to die bleeding from their anuses because you’re scared of the miniscule threat it presents to you is the height of cowardice. And you call them cowards from behind your keyboard? Ponder the courage it takes to leave behind a cushy, six-figure doctor job in the US to work in the poorest and most dangerous parts of the third world saving lives. You’re not fit to hold this guy’s jockstrap.

    1. Even if the American government doesn’t help them, the mining industry will continue to dig in Africa and provide his cell phone, computer, ets. even though Middle east country and south america produce far more valuable metals for the industry than Africa, since they mainly provide gold whereas South America has an extremely wide variety of minerals under them..
Not seeing that Africa is a money sink for the government is voluntarily ignoring the fact that it’s a the place of choice for pharmaceutics company to try out new virus and cure. And it will always be the government that will pay for thousands and thousands of “cure” for them.
In sum Africa is the guinea pig of the modern world, is it a shame yes. But if Occidental countries wants to sustain their crazy way of life, they’ll have to contain the population growth and it Africa will be the first one, they will achieve the result with bio-engineered virus.

      1. Currently Italy is being swamped by an invasion of fleeing blacks. The boats are packed with men who know that the Italians won’t sink the ships. The invaders also know that the Italians will give them a one way ticket to Paris or London.
I’m not worried about the Ebola. The disease is just a symptom of a terminal “Camp of the Saints” psychosis in European and American politics.
Don Juan or Andrea Doria would have sunk every ship full of “refugees” until the problem stopped.

    2. Ponder the courage it takes to leave behind a cushy, six-figure doctor job in the US to work in the poorest and most dangerous parts of the third world saving lives. You’re not fit to hold this guy’s jockstrap.

Trouble.Maker is just another privileged, liberal schmuck who grew up coddled and sheltered likely in a family full of women. Take everything he posts with a grain of salt.

      1. Liberal? No, it’s borderline paleo-con mixed with a dash of compassionate-con.
        Schmuck?
        Yiddish? Who are you?

        1. Hey now that you’ve posted that, here’s a question that I’ve been dying to ask:
These Nazi-inspired cartoons of Jewish archetypes always show a man with a very distinctively Middle Eastern face – i.e. curly dark hair and beard, thick eyebrows, large aquiline nose, and so on. And yet on the other hand you people are always pushing the Khazar hoax whereby supposedly Jews don’t have any Middle Eastern genetic heritage at all but are rather “fake” converts from Europeans. So how do you deal with the incompatibility of those two things? What is the explanation?

        2. That one demonstrates the paradox even more. Please address my question. How do you deal with the dissonance between these cartoons which have a strong Middle Eastern archetypal appearance and the Khazar hoax which is a favorite of antisemites posits that Jews have no Middle Eastern ancestry?

        3. You haven’t addressed the dissonance inherent in those neo-Nazi images though. If Jews don’t have a common Middle Eastern ancestry, then why do the cartoons show them looking Middle Eastern??

        4. It’s called a caricature. It’s purpose is comic relief, not accuracy you butthurt khazar. Do Blacks actually look like a picaninny or a sambo? No. but it’s a caricature so it’s still funny. You still haven’t addressed the dissonance inherent in that fact that Ashkenazim aren’t real jews.

        5. There’s no dissonance there because 85% of male Ashkenazi Jews have either a J or E Y-chromosome classification, which is – you guessed it – Middle Eastern. Plus there’s the whole matter of the historical record which clearly shows the moigrations. Oops for you.
Now back to my question. Why would anybody have even thought of this caricature if Ashkenazi Jews did not look Middle Eastern?

        6. Now back to my question. Why would anybody have even thought of this caricature if Ashkenazi Jews did not look Middle Eastern?

To answer both of your questions, the funniest thing about your question and this conversation is that the Khazar theory was launched and is still to this day, driven primarily by Communist Jews. It’s ironic that the three most prominent exponents of the theory that “the Jews are not a race” all have almost exaggerated caricatures of features people ascribe as Jewish.

          Enjoy that cognitive dissonance. Schlomo.

        7. I havn’t. My understanding is that the Ashkenazi are the product of “wandering male Jews” and female European converts. The Sephardi are sort of old school Mediterranean Jews in Spain, Italy, Greece who more or less kept to themselves genetically.
So the long and the short is that Ashkenazi are a Judeo-Slav hybrid with a dash of German.
Also the Khazars were an historical Turkic ruling population (over Slavs) that converted en masse to Judaism. What survived of that is anyone’s guess.

        8. The Turkic nose? The Khazars were ethnic Turk converts. Also what exactly does Mediterranean mean? The Spanish are fairly distinctive.
I’m not a cartoonist from the 1930s OKW.

        9. Jews interloping in Europe. Which was settled by Zionism. Not the worst outcome for either Jew or European. I’m much more comfortable with an official Israel that bears some international scrutiny than a shadow world of Pale antics.

        10. That sounds like it aligns with this.
          http://www.plosgenetics.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pgen.0020143

Most northern, central, and eastern Europeans (Finns, Swedes, English, Irish, Germans, and Ukrainians) showed >90% in the ‘northern’ population group, while most individual participants with southern European ancestry (Italians, Greeks, Portuguese, Spaniards) showed >85% in the ‘southern’ group. Both Ashkenazi Jews as well as Sephardic Jews showed >85% membership in the “southern” group.

        11. So you are simultaneously arguing for both positions here? Jews are both a race because those three guys look Jewish but not a race because the other two guys look different?
Antisemitism is a thick morass of mutually contradictory positions.

        12. Turkic people are from Central Asia. They look oriental (e.g. Kazakhs, Kirgiz) unless mixed with Mediterranean as in Turkey.

        13. I’m not arguing either. They’re arguing both positions as they have throughtout history. I’m just pointing out what I see, which are gigantic noses that fit the stereotype.

        14. OH LOOK! It’s everyone’s favorite race troll biz Goldfarbenstein. I see you’ve instigated YET ANOTHER race thread about jews. I guess someone’s got to keep that victimhood mythology somehow. Did you forget about my questions from the last post or are you still ducking them?
          Who financed the Bolshevik Revolution?
Who were the original Bolshevik party leaders?
Who were the heads of the NKVD and Secret Police?
How many of these men were jewish?

        15. “Even” the Huffington Post? Why do you say “even”? The HuffPo comments section has been ground zero for internet tough guy antisemitism since day one. That’s why they banned anonymous comments over there, trying to stem it. It didn’t work, obviously, but nothing new here.
And yeah, nothing says “Mongoloid” like huge noses, curly hair, and beards. Sure.

        16. The Khazars were a Turkic people. As the Ottoman Empire included the Middle East it is expected that some Middle East people will have Turkic features and DNA due the normal pattern of rape that occurred when conquering and occupying an area of land.
It doesn’t mean that feature originated in the Middle East though.

        17. The trick with all this genetic and historical research is to legitimize any current policy conducted by Bibi (or back in the day by Kaganovich, Hertzl or on other continents by Joe Slovo and Joe Lieberman. One day the Jew is a native of the Levant the next a Pale resident etc. it depends on what they want at a particular moment then the research grows to fit the policy.
To be fair all sociology is used this way anyhow.

        18. Ethiopian and Hebrew both belong to the same language family and same sub-language family, called afro-asiatic and semitic languages, originating in northern ethiopia/south sudean 15,000 years ago. it would be like saying italian is an alien language to spanish.

        19. Some jews look middle eastern like ariel sharon, and some jews have those features. Khazar jews aka euro jews sometimes do but sometimes don’t they arre a mongrel people and not full blooded. They odn’t all look one way

        20. Jew male dna doesn’t count, or so the rabbi tells us. J is a haplogroup originating in north eastern turkey, this includes the khazar empire fringes.
Most Ashkenzai jews are passing its the mongrel sephardis and middle eastern ones who look middle eastern. .

        1. Ah yes, look at that archetype that is so obviously either European or Mongoloid*
*as claimed by your people in these comments.

      2. Um excuse me? LIBERAL? I think not! I am a Liberal and this guy and I think nothing alike. It is the CONSERVATIVES that are ‘each man for themselves… to hell with helping others’. If you are going to make the “Liberal Bash” at least get your facts straight. This guy is just the other word for donkey.

    3. Yes, the continent of Africa is undeniably a money blackhole.Thousands of Billions of Dollars going in to help these populations with no major improvements, even after multiple decades of receiving it.
It is nonsensical to tout the Mining industry in Africa as some sort of great ROI when it is super obvious that all those profits have done shit to the standards of living of most of the populations.Indeed why even send money to Africa if their mining industry is so successful. The aid that you send and part of the profits of the Mines simply go to feeding the ultra corrupt and oppressive governments there, and what does go to the people has created a culture of dependency.
But on your second point, you are correct in that this author has an ultra idiotic explanation for calling these Doctors cowards. They are certainly not Heroes,a term I reserve for acts committed in extraordinary circumstances, but nevertheless their need for advanced medical attention, provided best in their home country ,is entirely justified and in no way shape or form cowardly.

      1. Colonialism never really ended in Africa. It is simply more discreetly hidden nowadays at the level of exploitation rights and service contracts signed between the local ruling governments, multinational investment pools, and foreign mining companies. The local African princes actually have no interest whatsoever in letting their local populace become too “enlightened” regarding how the country is really being run. Sure, some of the more stable and developed exemplars on that continent do possess a reasonably affluent and established middle class, as well as somewhat reasonable “standards” (by African measures anyhow), but those countries still tend to generally fall short in terms of overall human rights, guaranteed services, and overall rule of law.

        1. You’re not gonna get anything if you care that much about human rights and Ebola victims.
Fact is, Africans, like most people, care about money first.
China offers economic cooperation (or at least some incentive), while the West berates them over morals. It’s not a winning strategy.

        2. Good luck with that.
I think China ought to take the excess Nigerian, Congolese and Burgeoning SA population. Not Europe. These really nothing in Europe for these motherfuckers.

        3. The West offers economic “cooperation” mainly with the local ruling elite while all too often completely disregarding the lower rungs until the Russians finally arm them and cause a coup, at which point our brave paratroopers fly in and defend the local white islands of civilization against the bloodthirsty jungle savages hell-bent on turning our settlements into their next cannibal-pot picnic fiestas.
Ironic imagery aside, the Chinese on the other hand tend to cast a wider social net and mingle more with native tribes so as to develop greater social clout with the locals at all levels and allow for their colonization to proceed more smoothly than what the emissaries of Leopold II employed during their foray into the dark continent over a century ago.
Make no mistake though – neither the Chinese, nor the Russians, nor the old European Colonial powers, are doing any of this out of the sheer, disinterested kindness of their noble hearts. The means and methods may vary, but the underlying incentives essentially remain the same.

        4. I do have one theory about modern Western Animus toward Russia. They did arm the golliwogs. Revenge can come at any time I guess. It took the Brits about 30 years to avenge themselves over PanAm/Lockerbie. Perhaps the Little matter of Africa is just now being settled.

        5. The west sends in money (which mainly makes its way back to other westerners. In reality, western aid is mainly a money-laundering scheme by which taxpayer dollars are stolen by various elites: taxpayer $ -> foreign aid -> aid agencies -> purchase of stuff from american companies -> profits for rich people who own the companies. Military aid works pretty much the same way.)
As I was saying: the west sends in money; China sends in people. The west sends in duper-duper military hardware, spycams, and GE crops that can’t grow without massive amounts of fertilizer, pesticides, and which are encumbered with IP. The chinese send in rice farmers who are 100% accustomed to growing rice in those sorts of temperatures and who are keen to have an african wife because the girls back home wont have them (because they are poor). Hey – it’s pussy now, children soon, maybe even a future in the long term.
Sure, the chinese are basically there to steal the shit out of the minerals. They are simply colonials doing what the western nations did 100 years ago, beginning to do for Africa what England did for India: infrastructure, a government that kinda worked, law and order (sort of).
If you were african, which would you prefer? Rice grown locally, or drones and “aid” that is just disguised kickbacks to fatcats back home via aid agencies?

        6. I have another theory, Londonistan already have black Ebola carriers who have yet to show serious symptoms or will do so soon.

      2. “…their need for advanced medical attention, provided best in their home country…” There’s the rub. Their needs suddenly trump the needs of those sick bastards in africa. Now that they are sick, they are more deserving of “better” care than their own patients. If these doctors truly wanted africans to have the best care, why not bring them all to America then?
There is no bravery in running away to be treated better than your own patients. That is cowardice. I agree with Troublemaker here.

    4. You wouldn’t happen to work for the African Development Bank by any chance now, would you?

      1. No, my time in Africa was purely recreational. I’ve primarily worked on economic development and consulting in South America. My knowledge of the ADB is purely secondhand.

    5. Pretty sure that he is calling them cowards for bringing back the virus to the US and potentially infecting people in a completely new country. Which as a medical professional IS ethically wrong.
Since you love africa so much asshole you should have went with them and fucking stayed there.

      1. But this is just a display of ignorance. The only danger of infection is from direct tissue contact, so it spreads in Africa from people who do not know that they have it to others. In the case of the doctors, their quarantined transfer is sealed. On a positive note, now that the first worlders are scared s***less, money will be allocated towards creating a vaccine.

    6. Having 2 Americans die from untreatable Ebola in Africa is worse then having 2 Americans die from untreatable Ebola in USA while risking millions of other Americans dying from untreatable Ebola in USA ?
Am I the ONLY one who thinks that equation doesn’t exactly add up ?
I suspect the cowards are the one’s who’s emotions cloud their better judgment to the extent they are not able to make the tough decisions.
I suspect ‘Charlie’s’ amygdala is not properly developed.

        1. The belief that no prior research into ebola has been conducted is fanciful. There is zero justification to knowingly bring ebola into White countries and expose my loved ones to risk. Research and study can be conducted on site in Africa.

    7. 148 ROK readers agree with this butt hurt gibberish? What the fuck are you men turning into, a bunch of bleeding heart liberal feminsit cunt lickers. I am ashamed for all of you.

    8. You do realize nearly $1 Trillion has been sent to Africa since 1960, right, for support, not a few million? Not even counting the cost of investments for the mines that you refer to nor the millions of free labor hours given from humanitarian groups?
You say its a miniscule amount. How do you know? What are they doing here they couldn’t do over there? These people knew the risks they took when they went over there.

    9. If the black population was lower, it would be better.
If the black population and their governements where removed entirely from the equation then there wouldn´t just be extra copper and diamonds but jobs too.

    10. A gentleman I happen to know edits film and video for a living. Some time ago, after editing a corporate video documenting a volunteer employee aid mission to Haiti, he had a revelation:
White people enjoy, scratch that, they have an absolute passion for, being the only white person in a group of black people – preferably children – and for documenting the occasion with lots and lots of pics and video.
Thus sayeth your friendly local film editor.
Looking at that photo, where you see heroism? I see preening moral superiority and narcissism. YMMV.

    11. Thank you Charlie, for relaying my exact sentiment. Shame on the author for having such a smug, selfish, attacking attitude toward not only these two brave doctors who risked their lives to make a difference, but also the people of Africa, whose smallest suffering is worse than our largest. Unreal.

  8. When I watched in the news that the medical people are eagerly waiting for a subject to arrive in Germany so they can treat him and learn more about the disease, and they were talking of quarantine and safety, and no problem, the first thought in my head was
“Of course, what can go wrong”
Then the rumor, that there was a biolab in the area..
    Nothing ever can go wrong..
With people forgetting deadly virus vials lying around in unquarantined labs…
With people somehow mixing up animal names for the flu vaccines…
With people who sell AIDS infected aspirin drug like drugs…
    Nothing ever can go wrong.

  9. Ebola is getting lots of attention because it is dramatic. In reality, the chance of an Ebola epidemic is low. It kills too fast to spread quickly. It doesn’t help that backwardness and superstition prevail in Africa, helping the disease infect people in the dark continent in ways that it would not in the rest of the world. I say all this as a “doom and gloom” type. I’m sure a big pandemic will strike eventually, but Ebola isn’t it.
To Trouble.Maker: you’re riding a pretty high horse. We can debate whether they were wise. We can question the philosophy behind African aid work. But it’s absurd to call them cowards.

    1. I completey bought into the HN51 panic a few years back. Posted a few things which now make me look like a fool. Those posts were in reply to someone saying that these panics are always raised as a distraction – whenever you see one, check behind your shoulder to see what the government is doing.
They were right, and I was wrong.

  10. Well one thing is missing here: they volunteered for human testing of a serum. That’s one of the reason why they got transfered in the USA I guess (not always easy to have a serum traveling safely and might not be as easy to monitor the results in Africa compared to an American Hospital).
If there is one thing you should be scared, it’s that they found a lost vial of small pox in a NIH fridge (officialy there is only two places on Earth where vials of small pox are stored… but this proved it wasn’t true). THAT is scary, not two patients under quarantine (because the situation is under control).

    1. The CDC– the one that lost the smallpox for all those years– is the same organization crowing a few weeks later that there is “no risk” of Ebola spreading in the US. The public pronouncements by CDC (including the spokesman doctor in the theatrical white lab coat–LOL) are pure public relations.

      1. They don’t exactly advertise the medical establishment’s accidental role in HIV vectors around third world blood banks either.

        1. Well, they did have unused reserves of “questionable” blood in the fridge. Why let it go to waste? Not to mention that those infected would have made additional carriers and cheap guinea pigs for further study, as well as additional clients for ATZ treatment along the way. The more you know…

      2. Yep only the CDC and an institute in Russia are supposed to have small pox samples… except that it is apparently not the case since the NIH also had an old sample in a fridge (and not in a liquid nitrogen tank).
There is also a lot of old human tissues infected by the small pox around the world. They are usually not contagious. .. but still… You would just need one.

  11. The author of the piece is actually the only coward. You’re the one who doesn’t want these Americans to get the best treatment they can because YOU are afraid of the virus. How hypocritical of you.
Not to mention, the CDC being able to actually examine these people here at home means more of a chance of coming up with a cure. Plus, ebola has been “on our soil” since it first appeared in the 70s. It’s existed in vials in laboratories, and there’s always the chance of a lab accident.

    1. The article is silly, but the author is right. The doctors came back to the states knowing that they are risking the lives of an unknown number of people to have the best shot at survival. Existing in a lab and people actually having the virus are 2 different things, 2 very different things.

  12. The only rational I can see for there service over there was to look good in gods eyes I suppose because they were just pissing in the wind trying to help those people. The doctors could almost be considered selfish in a way.

  13. This is not a “red pill” article. This is a foolish argument from a cowardly man.

      1. Well he did stand up to his grandma! That’s so brave compared to a pussy who leaves his homeland to go to violent, unstable, subsaharan Africa to combat a highly infectious, deadly disease in primitive conditions.

    1. I agree 100% except this was not written by a man, it was written by a child. He did not even do his research. He sited Mrs. Writebol as being a Doctor when she is a missionary. No this child is in California, probably spoiled rotten by his parents and now thinks he knows everything. Narcissism at its finest!!!!!

  14. This is getting into that whole semantic argument about bravery vs cowardice that got Bill Maher fired from his TV show back after 9/11.
The important thing to realize is that bravery exists on its own axis and is not synonymous with good nor noble nor admirable. Something can be brave and destructive, or brave and stupid, and something can be cowardly yet ultimately the right choice.
In this case, I don’t think you can deny that a doctor leaving behind a comfortable life in America to risk getting one of the most horrible diseases in the world is brave, not cowardly. Whether it is smart, stupid, productive, pointless, selfless, or selfish is another matter.

    1. Bill Maher got in trouble because the public were somewhat hysterical.
However he’s a soft Zionist. Basically critical of the Palestinians through the 90s. Something like: “it’s a tiny sliver of land, why can’t the Arabs tolerate it being there?” He was also a sort of self proclaimed Conservative. At the moment he’s a Leftie. He’s a mischling. So my guess is that a simpler anti-war message “Nazi redneck goy!bad for killing brown people!” would have been acceptable but not outright superlatives about the suicide bombers. Even a tribal member gets yanked temporarily if he fucks up the script.

    2. Speak of anti-semanticism.
      • Why do Jews CONTINUE to ELECT Deputies who call for the relaxation of UK immigration controls?
Board of Deputies of British Jews – Immigration and Asylum
The Board of Deputies believes that TIGHTENING IMMIGRATION CONTROLS FURTHER WILL MAKE IT DIFFICULT FOR THOSE FACING PERSECUTION…the Board believes that there is a place for the Government to work in partnership with faith bodies to ENSURE THE ABSORPTION OF REFUGEES.
      http://www.edf.org.uk/news/BOD%20response%20to%20COIC.pdf
      And it’s sure to arrive.

  15. Brantly and Writebol were not the decision-makers here. So the question of who is putting self-interest above the public health security of the US does not fall on them. I agree that they should not have been brought into the country until they were well. But it is the CDC and Emory– not the two volunteer health workers– who are hemhorraging bullshit from their anuses by saying that there is “no risk” to the public here. Of course there is risk. It is the degree of risk that matters, and saying that it is zero is simply a public relations lie. Returning these two brave people to the US while sick with this highly contagious, potentially mutating disease with a very high morbidity rate is a dereliction of duty on the part of those whose job it is to protect the health of the general public. That’s the cowardly part. Some nameless bureaucrat Cathedral-worker made that decision to put us all at risk according to some unknown calculation. A country that imports a virus like Ebola is out of its collective mind.

  16. So many questions like if the disease was so fatal, why bother treating people at all? Just build a fence around the village and tell the healthy people to keep clean and not drink water or any other beverage handled by the sick.
Also, how did these two get infected in the first place? Ebola travels by fluids, not by air like the flu. So what were they doing that got them infected? And as professional doctors from a first world nation, wouldn’t they have taken massive amounts of disinfectant chemicals with them to ensure that they don’t get sick?
I think they got careless while they were over there.

    1. They’re doing this in some areas. The areas should be completely quarantined and no one should be able to get in or out. I think there should be troops standing on the outside of these areas.

  17. One of the reasons they were brought back was for research purposes. It allows them to study the virus in ways that wouldn’t otherwise be possible. It’s not stupid for letting them back in because they were in specially quarantined zones.

  18. I’m a bit disappointed in this article. While I agree with you in that they knew the risk, I’m not sure why you dedicated an entire article about how they are cowards and how they’re putting millions of people at risk and even though you’re already taking the position that more than likely nothing will happen

  19. Africa (and to a certain extent Latin America and Asia) are like the field labs for disease experimentation on humans.
Whether it may be HIV, Ebola or what not, it’s like some fucked up damn disease or the other, unheard of before, jumps out of these continents into the news. The lawlessness, stupidity (or gullibility or savageness – depending on the type of person you’re dealing with) of the (village) people there does not do anything to salvage the situation more. The same attitude among the conquered people in Africa was more or less seen in parts of Asia and Latin America too (eg. Central America, India and South east asia where European colonialists ruled).
The elite used sex to destroy and control the West and Europe. I always wonder whether the oversexualization of the west and Europe – and other parts of the world – is actually a huge propaganda for population control and genocide through STD spread. People get oversexed through media, fuck around too much without protection, and get weird unheard of diseases to die. Patient zeros are actually unsuspectingly infected with STDs in labs and introduced into the open to fuck around promiscuously to criminally and willfully transmit diseases. How did HIV travel from monkeys to humans?
The companies which produce antidotes or vaccines for these diseases are run by the elites, and the infected people then run to buy these these antidotes or vaccines to save their lives. Whether it may be HIV, Syphilis, HPV or even some day when a cure for Herpes is discovered, the result is that the income from the sale of the antidotes and vacciness possibly go the pockets of those elites who actually want these very diseases to spread about.
The same elites want people to fuck about – so they first oversexualize the people through media – to create the population of people who will buy their antidotes or vacciness. More people fuck around, more people get sick, more people die – genocide by sexual decadency – a target achieved by these elites in developed countries. If the elites want to wipe out a third world country, they first morally deprave the local people through media, and create sex tourism there. The native population dies from sexual decadency, and the elites achieve control.
And the same elites want people to believe that they save humanity, so they introduce condoms and contraceptives in decadent societies, because the sale of these contraceptives produces income which again goes to the pockets of these elites. Not to mention the achievement of population control in developed societies by these elites.
In short, these elites are playing with the world as if humanity were pawns in a chess game.
So, don’t know what’s originally responsible for this disease Ebola – but the thing is that if this disease is manufactured in some lab and then willfully spread among the population in another form of medical genocide, then God save us from those who did that.
I wonder if this is again covert biological warfare in its experimental phase. And whether the decision to bring back these two infected doctors back to the States is to:
    1. Willfully spread the disease in urban areas for experimental and observational purposes
    2. Increase the income of the lab companies who’d manufacture a ‘cure’ for this disease.
    3. Achieve population control by medical and biological genocide
It’s like the plot from Mission:Impossible 2. You first willfully spread the disease, and you make the money from selling the cure.
Medical and biological warfare is a subject which is under-reported, or sometimes not even admitted by the PC media which labels it as conspiracy theories.

    1. How did AIDS jump from Ape to Human?
A subhuman in Africa was fucking a monkey, then a subhuman fucked a human. The disease vectored into Haiti via Sex tourism into Haiti and Dominican Republic. In Haiti in the 70s there were huge blood banks where the infected gave blood. This Homo/medical monstrosity wouldn’t have gotten this bad if Haitian blood banks ha never been.
The old bigots who refused transfusions from blacks were not entirely paranoid. They were probably aware of tropical diseases and the dirty bastards carrying said diseases in Congo.

      1. And to this day we get an ongoing flow of white female sex tourism to those islands in a never ending quest for some exotic black mamba action on the beach sand under the palm trees. The bushes really do ruffle there by night as the call of the wild leads to constant adventures with the forbidden. What was that saying again? Once you go black…

    2. Well, when no ready market exists for your products you simply create one out of whole cloth to recoup the significant investments you have made in your research, development, production, and distribution facilities. Even if big Parma or some government lab were not actually directly responsible for engineering and releasing said pathogens onto the public, they most definitely did not hesitate to jump on the occasion once said diseases did become present and started spreading through the lemming herds of our supposedly enlightened and evolved Western societies (with the help of some sex tourism to warm and exotic locales where the environmental conditions are just right for the creation of veritable pathogenic cultures in the form of two-legged “empowered” Petri dishes more than ready and willing to both take as well as spread the love over there and back home again). That should just about answer your questions right there.

  20. Watch the news footage of the second patient arriving to the american hospital. The patients and hospital staff rolling the paitient on the stretcher were all wearing spacesuits because of the dangers of the virus. Yet, you watch the arrival video and theres reporters and random hospital staff on smoke breaks just walking around in regular clothes…5 yards away from the space suit doctors. If the virus is so dangerous, why are people allowed to be walking around unprotected next to the patient?

    1. Because ebola isn’t airborne. The only problem is if you make contact with body fluids.
The problem in Africa is that they wash their dead. By hand.

  21. part of me agrees that they took the risk to contract ebola,so they should have to deal with the consequences. we all know if they are cured, they won’t take the cure back to africa. those people will still continue to drop dead in drones from the disease. what makes them so special compared to the countless others?

  22. Probably the most potent , and least recognized anti – viral and bacterial agents available is 10 or 22 ppm ASAP (thats a brand ) type silver solutions. This is NOT colloidal silver . Effective against most anything including malaria and plague ( in vitro in this case ).
Something that acts in a multiple path manner and not really amenable to have resistance develop. Keeping a couple bottles handy is not a bad idea.

  23. I somewhat disagree; because we can no longer depend on the authorities to defend our borders or be sensible on immigration, the risk of exposure to pathogens is higher than ever. You probably remember hearing recently about the two other fellas with ebola, who had been on American soil shortly before becoming contagious; they were boarding a plane back to Africa.
Bringing these doctors under such carefully controlled conditions for the purpose of studying the disease and possibly coming up with a cure, seems like a prudent step, considering the rapidly rising risk of exposure to deadly pathogens from all the world’s vibrant communities.

    1. I would agree about “carefully controlled conditions” IF the CDC didn’t have a reputation for being so damned careless with pathogens.
Anthrax and smallpox have already slipped from their grasp THIS SUMMER (caps because I AM shouting, dammit!). Putting ebola in their fumble-fingers doesn’t strike me as “a prudent step”.
This amounts to taking control of that risk of exposure from those vibrant communities and handing it to government.
      No.

    2. That’s a reasonable answer. Here is what concerns me. Is there no Island based facility to offshore this problem? An Island Dr Moreau? No downtown Fugging Atlanta.

      1. I hear what you’re saying. I’m assuming that the most advanced medical tech is on the mainland. Though, this incident should certainly be enough incentive for someone to realize that, perhaps, there SHOULD be such an island.

  24. The whole thing is a hoax, don’t believe everything you hear in the news.
Apparently Ebola lives in semen for 7 weeks, so careful whom you discharge on!!! LOL

  25. Ahh Hell, Ebola is no big deal. The reason it is a problem in Africa is because its…FUCKING AFRICA. Most West African hospitals there are just sweltering cinder block buildings to go die in with flies in your eyes while earnest “nurses” pray for you and give you cleanish sheets to die in.

    1. Don’t forget all the actual real monkeys on the loose strolling down the halls ready to keep you company. Why keep the dearies out? It’s only an operating room after all. They might even be of some help, what with their long, slender arms and nimble fingers. A little training, a white blouse and stethoscope, and Dr. Chimp is ready to see you Mr. White Hunter. What? You want to be served by a human? Where do you think you are, England of all places?

      1. Not for long.

  26. I agree that this was a total waste of money. If you’re going to go over there to treat that crap, and you catch it, then you deserve it and IMO you’re a moron. Stay over there until you get better.
I just read on Mother Jones how conservatives are apparently stupid because we’re more likely to die from the flu. That’s like saying, you’re more likely to get crabs so don’t worry about HIV. What a bunch of stupid ass logic. Even if a breakout in America is small, it’s STILL not worth the risk. Oh, the risk is small? You know what’s smaller than a small risk? No risk.
The CDC is talking out both sides of its mouth. One side is saying ebola is overblown and Americans have nothing to worry about, then the other side is declaring it a “level 1 alert,” while the WHO declares it an global health emergency. But hey, nothing to worry about guys! Everything’s cool! … wtf. A nation of morons.

    1. Indeed. We are told this disease is “not highly contagious” but anyone who comes near these people has to wear full bodysuits and uses all sorts of crazy protective gear.
But “it is not highly contagious” right?

      1. It’s not contagious. It’s infectious. The problem is that the – you know: scientists, doctors, epidemiologists, smart people who read books – are using words that you haven’t bothered to look up what they mean.

  27. Not so long ago, things like bedbugs, tuberculosis, rats, and alot of sexual diseases were unheard of in Western countries. We were clean and orderly, and just like during wartime in the 1700s. If a ship was *suspected* of carrying the black plague, they were quarantined from the rest of the fleet and were forbidden to enter any ports under oath of death. After 3 weeks had passed, a (brave) doctor was sent aboard to determine whether it was a panic (alot of times) or real. Plague and disease have killed more than all the wars combined, and there was no shame in being paranoid when your entire home population could be at risk.
Now they let people into our country with full-blown AIDS. These shitskins then fuck several bitches, who *surprise* contract HIV and die. Isn’t that murder on part of the government’s ignorance. Willful ignorance? These people rarely get deported.
Reminds me of that song by Guns n Roses. Immigrants and faggots, they make no sense to me.. They come to our country and do as they please.. spread some fucking disease. Tell me when did everyone lose their common sense?!

      1. I’m sorry, I wouldn’t even classify that as human. Just a trained beast that manager’s see as a pay dividend.. much like people who partake in dog-fights, the industry of betting on “sports”

    1. The elites actually allow this to:
      1. Achieve population control by spreading disease through what you described.
      2. Gain income through healthcare to combat the disease
      3. Promote promiscuity through media and porn so people fuck around more with less self control to acquire STDs
      4. Destroy people’s sexual morals by corruptiing women through feminism to become sluts and whores, and promote homosexuality to create more vectors to spread more disease, to increase sales of the antidotes
      5. Manufacture diseases with their antidotes in labs, and spread it willfully among populations to make money
      6. Increase sales of contraceptives to boost the healthcare industry whose incomes goes to the pockets of the elites. Not to mention this is an indirect form of population control and genocide.
      7. Isolate the disease to create biological weapons of these types of diseases in labs.

      1. Don’t you just love it when industries, government, and the media (aka the CATHEDRAL) neatly cross over in a veritable web of symbiotic mutually-beneficial relationships where each ends up receiving more and more of what they want as they progressively interact further and further with the other? So what if some of these actors appear to be somewhat peculiar if not downright revolting to one another. As they old saying goes, “Politics makes for strange bedfellows” (both figuratively as well as literally in this case).

    2. Tuberculosis unheard of in western countries??? It was called “consumption”, and was a pretty serious killer.

      1. Australia eradicated Tuberculosis by the 70’s.
Then they started allow Black Africans to immigrate.
        Now the T.B is back.

  28. Ebola has been in the USA before. We also store weaponized strains of Ebola in our arsenal. People work with Ebola in research facilities all the time. This article shows who the real coward is.

  29. Fucking morons… The point is that they abandoned the front lines to bring an active virus to american soil. I wouldnt bring something so deadly home to my family cause i got scared. People simply dont know how to remove their feelings from the equation to realize the risk involved. Smfh.

    1. It’s not so deadly in the civilized world with a real medical system. It is deadly in places without real hospitals. The better analogy is a wounded soldier who comes off the lines to a real Fucking hospital rather than being relegated to treatment by a bunch of halfwit medics who can’t tell a vein from an artery.

  30. Excellent article.
These pathological altruists are getting their just desserts. Maybe next time some of these worthless “anti-in group” status whores will think twice about the wisdom of crucifying themselves for the wretched ” other. ”
These people deserve the same contempt as the American rape victim in Haiti who blamed western patriarchy. Two less self-hating narcissists.

  31. Great article.
They knew the risk they were taking, and the loss of two lives is worth the risk of infecting a continent which should have no exposure to this risk.
Not only is it cowardly to come back, it is downright foolish to bring that virus back here present in a host and take the risk of infecting others.
It should give serious pause to the communicability of this strain given that a large number of healthcare workers have come down with the virus and died. It’s not like they weren’t taking the typical precautions as required with ebola.
Bringing these hosts to the US creates FAR more risk than benefits and it was a foolish decision putting every citizen of the US at risk unnecessarily.

  32. This is a valid point, but imop, we’re Americans. No man should be left behind. So what if they foolishly exposed themselves to this virus. After all the bad press that we receive as a result of certain special interests groups desire to spread their corporate empire, we desperately need people to spread goodwill on a global level in our name. For their selfless actions, they deserve to be treated back home.

    1. This isn’t the fucking US Army. No man left behind is something your EARN through being a fighting member of the group. In case you haven’t noticed – entire inner city America has been left behind.
Fuck these assholes for risking the rest of us because they wanted go abroad and play with their lives.

      1. Inner city America hasn’t been left behind. Those people choose to engage in violent and ghetto behavior, it’s no one’s fault but their own. They try to blame society but it’s all BS
It’s a sad world when people are ostracized for helping others

        1. And how is that different from how Africans choose to engage in civil war constantly?

        2. A huge reason why Africans engage in warfare is that Western imperialism split their lands along arbitrary boundaries, rather than historical and cultural ones they’d chosen for themselves.

  33. “Sarcasm aside, the deadly strain has made it on to American soil for the first time – at least knowingly.”
Clearly you actually have been living under a rock, as NIH has been working with Ebola for years. This isn’t a secret and it highlights your reactionary and uniformed view.

  34. This is probably the shittiest article I’ve read on ROK so far. mister TroubleMaker, you know that you need poor people in order to run an economy? Where do you think most of the resources around the world come from? Where are the new mediciation and disease testing zones.
And if they’re cowardly, what are you? You feel endangered?
Wow just wow, I hope this article is just a stain on a rather spotless blog content.

  35. I wonder if half these internet hard-asses would decide to stay in Africa if THEY had ebola

  36. A very naive understanding of all the issues, at best. Got to give this article a thumbs down. These doctors aren’t so much cowards as they are total puppets. I doubt these two even have the virus, but the propaganda and fear campaign is being taken advantage of for sure. Things are never as they seem in the mainstream media, never forget that.

  37. Considering how virulent ebola is and the incredible damage it can do to the human body, bringing it onshore to the US is a very risky move. There are offshore options or hospital ships that could have easily been used for these same “tests” to observe the disease (if that’s indeed what’s happening).
Also, if you make a sovereign decision to hug sick African babies dying of a horrific disease to feel good about yourself, don’t bring your pestilence back with you. Kinda violates the whole “do no harm” thing doctors are supposed to adhere to…

  38. Someone needs to moderate these comments to keep the racist trolls away. This article had NOTHING to do with Jews or Tirks or any other ethnic group from the Middle East. Why do I have to wade through their nonsense trying to find something useful about the actual topic?
    I think I need a shower now.

    1. Look you fuckwit the entire story is actually about the pathological altruism of the the two whites who got themselves infected. Avoid the groid.

  39. There’s absolutely no reason why we could not have sent over the relevant medical technology to treat these individuals in Africa directly.

    1. Because “relevant medical technology” can simply be packed into a cardboard box and sent over via the post.

        1. So, your statement “there’s absolutely no reason why we could not have sent over the relevant medical technology to treat these individuals in Africa directly” was simply a distraction, and nothing at all to do with your real reasons. Whether or not the technology could have been shipped, either way you don’t want these infected people brought to the US.
I mean – you may be right, you may have a fair reason. But the reasons that you gave were bogus and dishonestly given.

        2. You couldn’t pick up on my inferring that bringing Ebola to the USA is a terrible idea?

  40. Our first clue that they had no say in the matter is that this evacuation is being run by the CDC (out of Atlanta) and using Emory Hospital (in Atlanta). Our doctors are now not just patients, but also subjects.
    Which is more likely?
    1) The demonstrably selfless and brave doctor lost his nerve after refusing the sole dose of an experimental serum, which could save him, and insisted his colleague take the dose. The same doctor then asks to be taken to the US and treated (despite the lack of a contingency plan, resources or any precedent).
    2) The CDC saw an opportunity to study and learn to treat or possibly prevent a disease that will inevitably make it to our shores one day. They also acknowledged that leaving bleeding soldiers – I mean doctors – lying on the battlefield, is bad for morale.
Neither you nor I know all the facts of the matter. But, instead of giving two heroic doctors the benefit of the doubt, that they – above all others – have earned, you jump straight to “coward”.
“There are people whom are far more giving, caring, and brave than I am.” No shit. Go ahead and tack on, “discerning, rational and tactful”. I hope you don’t do this sort of emotional guesswork in your engineering.
You owe these doctors an apology.

  41. There’s a reason why so many medical “volunteers” go to third world countries.
They are representatives of multi-national pharmaceutical companies testing the effectiveness of diseases and drugs on the locals.
Someone is about to get stupidly rich from producing an Ebola cure/vaccine.

  42. Agreed. Mind you, they are not the first people to run to a decent hospital in the west when their morals should have dictated that they stay where they were and get treated there *cough* Mother Teresa *cough*.

  43. The current administrations’ tactic of importing 100s of 1000s of disease-ridden gangbangers over the southern border wasn’t collapsing the system fast enough, so, true to their philosophy, they did not let a good crisis go to waste and took advantage of the opportunity to accelerate the collapse. A little tinfoil-hattish for some of you, but with these clowns anything’s possible.

  44. http://wh.gov/lu9OU Please sign this petition to held end child rape in this country. To stop overflowing our prisons with people who will never heal. 100,000 signatures are needed so please help.

  45. This is coming from someone who lives in the middle of Atlanta…
The reason they’re here is because this is where the CDC is located where they are, yes, being cared for and treated , but the main thing is that the CDC wants to monitor and study them, and also test out a possible vaccine. It’s not like they’re just here to see the sights or something, they are under such right lockdown that they aren’t posing a risk to the population. Because they are American citizens it was easy to get them to the CDC fast without going through any paperwork legal shit. They are in America not because they pussied out, they’re here because the scientists who are studying the virus and how to cure it are here. The main thing that I think people don’t understand is that Ebola can only be caught through DIRECT contact with infected bodily fluids, and that’s not very easy when there’s only two Ebola patients in the entire country in the safest possible location for them to be. In Africa where the disease is really spreading its easier to catch because a lot of the families and patients refuse to follow protocol and the families are hiding sick members because they don’t trust the doctors. No one is at risk here.

  46. Alert: moderator, this article should be removed immediately.
As a healthcare professional, I can tell you that many go into it for stability and money as well as helping other people. But these aid workers went in to help others in need risking their lives. For them money was not a consideration.
They are Americans and deserve the same healthcare that you get. How about if you were stranded overseas without medical care and we leave you behind? Americans have the knowledge to prevent the spread here, so it is not a concern to spread domestically. It would be more beneficial for us to come up with possible vaccines and treatments. If it is not prevented internationally, it will more likely spread into American soil because internsrjonal travelers can carry it the airports.
This article should be removed because these two Americans should be honored for their bravery and efforts.

  47. You do not have a grasp of medical ethics or the scientific value of treating disease victims with the best available technology. Medical ethics dictate that you do everything possible to preserve life and no progress towards treatment and prevention of disease can be made without the best tools. Both of these can be obtained in Atlanta, not Africa. Ultimately, wether these two live or die, the cure for this plague will be developed in Atlanta from knowledge provided by these patients. That cure can than be exported to benefit sufferers around the world, prevent future outbreaks and eliminate the disease.

  48. The only person that is a COWARD IS YOU..if these are your honest feelings why not publish this with YOUR REAL NAME.. Everyone is entitled to their own morals & opinions, but when you make an article that is clearly going to be a lightning rod of controversy you should use your name..comparing these 2 people to soldiers is like comparing apples to oranges,1 has nothing to do with the other..I truly do believe that you wrote this to get more traffic on the site, rather I truly hope that’s why you did this..if not,I can’t even begin to fathom the type of asshole you are..a true journalist would stand behind their words by putting there name on a article & be proud of it,not hiding

  49. Honestly, do any of you think they would do this for you? If these twowere not doctors (part of the social elite) they would have been left in Africa. I tend to agree, the risk does not outweigh the benefit.

  50. Is this a satire website? The shallow, self absorbed tone of this article upset me until I realized the writer was a 22y/o “fitness enthusiast” whose latest work is night club promo. Don’t quit your night job kid. LOL.

  51. Medical experts infected with Ebola, or anything similar, are brought back to Atlanta because that is where the Centers for Disease Control maintains specialized hospitals for dealing with exactly those situations. The reason they are brought back at all has nothing to do with feeling sorry for them. It is because they are experts who are returning from the midst of the crisis, and we need their knowledge of the problem.
    You idiot.

  52. Why must we always sacrifice blood, treasure, and man power to “save” Africa? Would it really be so bad if for once in 200 years the Africans themselves actually had to suffer from the stupidity of doing things like sodomizing monkeys and eating them?
Risk of ebola? Check. Happens with close proximity to bats and monkeys? Check. Have sex with them? Check. Eat them? Check. It would be like watching people insist on keeping legions of fleas as pets after a resurgence of the black death.
Oh I know… we have to export legions of bleeding out of the eyes people to every corner of the U.S. because raciss.

  53. I was doing research for an article I am writing on this subject, looking for less than cogent comments about the Writebols and Brantly. I am disapointed that search led me to RoK.
People who have the balls to sacrifice their time, finances and risk their well being to help the less fortunate, all of whom happen to be of a different race, are not cowards. This is the height of selflessness and a great example of what real courage is.
    Then you make statements like:
“When a soldier enlists in the military, and enters an active warzone –
can he turn his back on his fellow men and run back to American soil on
    the first available plane?Absolutely not.”
What the fuck are you talking about? When an American soldier is injured on the battlefield, if circumstances permit they are evacuated and cared for; in your world that’s indicative of cowardice.
I also find it extremely irritating that you know that the risk of Ebola spreading in a developed country like the US is extremely low and that these people are isolated in the most professional of medical facilities, yet you still come to the conclusion “[Leave them] in Africa to bleed in it”. So I am left to conclude, since you know the risk is so low, that this is some kind of personal hang up you have. Envious much?
Nancy Writebol has more balls than you do. Why are you here?

  54. First, before you write an article, you need to get your facts straight. You are a horrible researcher. Dr Brantley is a Doctor. Mrs. Writebol is a MISSIONARY. She is NOT a Dr. BAD BAD BAD research. Second, so when a soldier gets his or her leg blown off, they just leave him their to die? Um, NO…. he/she is taken to the military hospital and depending on the situation, he or she is sent HOME. I have never seen such an unprofessional display of ‘writing’… ???? I don’t know. You should write for a tabloid. You would fit right in. You are trying to stir up crap, draw attention and are doing it while giving improper info.

  55. If you’re not going over there to seek to help, don’t criticize.
They went to help, they did for a while, they got sick, they went home.
    The. end.
Fuck off with calling them cowards.
Ebola is far easier to contain than the flu for example. In the developed world the already well established infrastructure and rigorously enforced adherence to rules of conduct makes Ebola outbreaks in those countries far less scary.

  56. You assume they had their say in being sent back to the US, I wouldn´t be so sure.

  57. Dr.Brantley never had Ebola. The truth is here on a government website. The news media is lying to everyone.nih.gov/news/health/oct2014/od-07.htm

    1. I had my suspicions about Dr. Brantley, too. What do you think about the nurses in Dallas getting Ebola and healing much faster than what the quarantine periods are believed to be as standard protocol? I don’t know what I believe about them, yet I am confident that the Mainstream media, World Health Organization, and CDC are having their PR people lie for their organization. I bet these PR people have no clue what is going on and buy into the information they are told to present. On another note, I think that the “Ebola infected” nurse Kaci Hickox from Maine that refuses to be quarantined may not even have Ebola. I admit I have no evidence to prove it and the story about her sounds suspicious and difficult to believe.
