5 Things I Learned From My Trip To Cyprus

Recently, yours truly and his girlfriend went to Cyprus for five days, largely to escape -10 degrees Celsius (14 F) in Sweden, in favor of approximately 18+ degrees (64 F) on the southeastern Mediterranean island. Here are five observations from my stay there.

1. The country is similar to Malta (and almost as good)

Obviously, Greece is the country’s closest cultural equivalent, since they share ethnic and linguistic ties and geographical proximity, but another nice Mediterranean nation, Malta, also comes to mind.

While the longitude is quite different, since Malta is located close to North Africa while Cyprus is only about 265 kilometers from Lebanon and Syria in Western Asia, the latitude is the same (35).

With fairly similar population sizes, cultural characteristics and millions of tourists coming every year, the two countries are like national cousins. If I had to choose, Malta is perhaps slightly better overall, but Cyprus is definitely not far after.

I would recommend a tour trip within the borders of the Akamas national park, and the capital Nicosia. Young party animals may go to Ayia Napa instead, where the slut factor is high. For those with less profane plans, Paphos, located on the southwestern coast is an excellent point of departure for relaxation and excursions.

2. The Cypriots hate the Turkish occupiers (and are not afraid of saying so)

In Western European countries it may happen that people complain about immigrants, especially low- and semi-skilled workers that you happen to run into.

Yet, there is a striking difference between how the Cypriots talk about the Turkish military and their enablers, who since 1974 illegally occupy about 38% of the northern land mass. They hate them and are not afraid of stressing that point publicly.

Perhaps it’s got to do with that Cyprus is a small country while Turkey is a large and relatively powerful state, and the slave/master complex makes them more assertive, but that’s probably a secondary reason. I think that many outsiders understand their legitimate anger.

One may note, though, that there are the mainland Turks and their government, rather than the Turkish Cypriots, who make up the target for such resentful feelings.

3. The local women are average

I recall once when I went on a date with a very pretty Cypriotic woman in her late 20s. She had long, curly brown hair, a petite figure, and beautiful facial features. Plus, she seemed quite traditional and thus made up decent marriage material.

Unfortunately, from the small sample that I laid my eyes on in the western parts of the country, few women are as pretty as she was. Many look okay but kind of average, with decent bodies but dull faces. A reason for this may be that many Cypriots live abroad, in for example the UK or Australia.

Hence, if you go to Cyprus and manage to get laid it’s likely going to be with a tourist from another European country. Especially if you take into account that the local women generally are more conservative and therefore less likely to have sex outside of marriage or long-term relationships. But there are always exceptions and variations, of course.

4. People generally seem laid-back

For at least eight months of the year, Cyprus is a warm country. Even in February the weather resembles Scandinavian summers. Tourism, finance, shipping and real estate are the most important services that the economy hinges on, and most people you meet work with tourism in some form.

Combined with the fact that the living costs are fairly low, at least in comparison to Western European countries, Cypriots have a laidback mentality. They often work many hours but are no strangers to taking long breaks and relax in the sun. Male (tour) drivers genuinely seem to love their work.

5. Wealthy Russians are investing a lot

The influential Harvard political scientist Samuel Huntington was onto something when he stressed in his seminal work The Clash Of Civilizations And The Remaking Of World Order (1996) that it exists a broader Orthodox civilization in the world, in which the Christian Orthodox branch is the primary cultural marker.  Russia, Armenia, Ukraine, Serbia, Greece and Cypus are some of these countries.

For the last 5-10 years or so, multiple rich Russian and Ukrainian businessmen have invested a lot in Cyprus. While there I learned that a large share of the new-built houses are owned by Russians. To own a nice house in an Orthodox nation with a more pleasant climate seems reasonable from that perspective. However, to obtain a EU citizenship appears to be another underlying reason, which perhaps makes Cyprus involved in some shady business.

In summary

Overall, Cyprus is a very nice country to visit. Even in February, the weather is quite pleasant, and there are much to see and do. Furthermore, the laid-back mentality is appealing. If you happen to be able to go there, I would recommend a visit, whether you’re a younger or older guy.

    1. Selimiye Mosque, which historically is known as Cathedral of Saint Sophia, is a former Roman Catholic cathedral converted into a mosque, located in North Nicosia. It’s a beautiful place which manifests that everything good comes from the West (or Persia in some cases), origininally.

    2. It’s a shit-hole, food is expensive, and all the available women are are East European hookers. Also it’s a rocky, barren desert.

    1. Perhaps some, if they have been living in the UK and return for a while (also depending on your individual value of course). Otherwise you can hit on foreign Euro tourists in Aiya Napa in the summer.

    2. @bbg, Instead of “triggering” un-necessary topics/discussions here at ROK; Why don’t you go and check out on your own !?

    3. So many thumbs down. F that. Here’s a thumb up my melanated brother.
Stormcucks go choke on a fat one.

    1. The problem with touristic place like Cyprus is that in the high season, the influx of foreign women (tourists and sex workers) and local workers will drastically increase, but so also the number of sausages. For every cute Swedish, French or Spanish girl there will be at least two betas from UK or Russia who will be drunk as fuck and hit on everything in their way. But as always, if you have value, social skills, looks etcetera you can do well; it’s far from impossible.
The point is that to go there in the low season (late February or March) or just in the beginning of the high season (April) is good for other reasons than chasing pussy.

  1. Why the fuck is this a relevant article to our movement? Please explain William Adams. Operating under the assumption that 95 percent of us have never been, nor will ever visit Cyprus. Enlighten us would you Willy?

    1. C’mon man has the Juudid bankrupted you or allowed a refugee, immigrant, feminist or minority to take your job that you can’t find $1,000 in extra spending monies to travel to Cyprus? Why are you serving the Juudid?

    2. It’s called having some variation in subject matter. I probably won’t ever go to Cyprus either (too much of a political shithole), but the article is still interesting. WTF is wrong with you?

  2. You I must understand yourself that “black pillers” are cynical and don’t care about the joys of life. Traveling is nice. I have previously written about Sri Lanka and Malta, and the editor of this site is partially known for his TRAVEL bang books. Many others have written about places like Georgia and so on.
If you are “black pilled” you should travel and at least experience some bright light in the dark tunnel. A person who lives in a first-world country and never travels around the world, not even Europe, is likely a loser IMO.
Plus, some particular micro knowledge is often good to have. A lot of the material on this site is related to micro issues that all together create more accumulated information/knowledge.

    1. Exactly.
Not everything has to be about “red pill” and “game”.
      From Wikipedia:
“The earliest known human activity on the island dates to around the 10th millennium BC. Archaeological remains from this period include the well-preserved Neolithic village of Khirokitia, and Cyprus is home to some of the oldest water wells in the world.”
      10th millennium BC!
I also see that they have a 6400 foot mountain to hike. Nice beaches, gorges, waterfalls, etc..
I see no mention of the food though. How was it?
Good tip on the plain local females.
If I ever go there I’ll be sure to bring a “temporary SB”…

  3. Hating the – inside and outside – enemies of your country and nation, and expressing that hate freely is perfectly NORMAL everywhere and with everyone, except the PC/Multikulti Liberal-Bolshevik crowd.
For example: I am a Hungarian. I hate Romanians, Slovaks, Serbs, our outside enemies, who are occupying ancient Hungarian lands since the end of WW1. I hate Jews and Gypsies – the enemy within.
And I am not ashamed to say it out loud.

  4. Russians or (((Russians)))? Any Juden in Cyprus? I need to count to 6 million by subtracting the population of juudid in pre-WW2 and minus that by the current population of Juudid IN 2018! The difference will be how many Juudid actually died in the Hollow Hoax.

  5. Decent article, pretty insightful actually in some ways, I’ve been to Malta its legit – but the girl in picture #3 – yikes bro- that shit aint ‘average’ – holy fuck man – thats some scary shit

  6. Oh Willy, your fixation on my username to deflect the fact that your article is utter shit is pathetic. This is a refuge for our fellow man, don’t pollute it with your “micro” knowledge.

  7. Cyprus and it’s Mediterranean neighbors Lebanon (Phoenician) Greece (ancient Greeks) etc have been under assault from abrahamic tribes for centuries. It’s Intereting the inhabitants no longer really resemble those who originally built the great empires and civilizations.

  8. 1) The Greek cypriots started a fight and the Turks finished it (As an ex diplomat to Cyprus told me & so did British forces stationed there). Turkey is not Bangladesh and was not going to sit by and watch their kin murdered by extremist right wing Greeks from AOKA (or whatever that organization was called). So i wouldnt term it ‘Legitimate’ Anger.
    2) The good food (you cannot compare Turkish food to Greek, and no, Im not Turkish), the hospitable people and the Cyprus you want to visit is actually the North.
    3) Im not Turkish.

    1. WRONG
Christianity preceded Islam by only 600+ years.
Islam and muslims, financed by Jews, warred upon resident Christians all throughout North Africa, the Middle East, and Europe as far North as Spain, Portugal and South of France. Over 850,000 Christians were enslaved by them. Read on the Janisarries- Greek boys taken as warriors for the Turk Sultan.
Christians REACTED to reclaim what was once theres, taken BY Muslims, just as Constantinople, formerly the headquarters of the Vatican and Byzantine empire, was converted to a Mosque.
Stop your bullshitting. Please. Not all of us are ignorant.

  9. Color me mad, but that Cypriot girl in the pic looks divine. Not a 10/10 by any means.. but maybe it’s the lack of smarminess and missing 1000-cock stare you see in most Western girls. Maybe I’m just getting old.

    1. Exactly what I was thinking. Even Donald Trump has a hard time keeping a 10. A girl like that will be smart enough to know that she does not have a lot of value on the meat market and so will love her babies more. Women dont actually love men so she wont really love her husband but she will probably know he is a good value.

  10. Ouch willy, from such a well spoken guy, such harsh words directed at me. Couldn’t defend the content of your bullshit article and had to make a personal attack. If only you knew who I was… 😉

  11. I was just joking around a little. You didn’t deserve anything else when you shit on my article, which was pretty decent IMO, although of course not so much relevant for many (Americans). Enough of this, now.

  12. Your article was decent for a travel blog, but not for the manosphere. The men that are on here look for solace and sympathy from the degeneracy they experience in our declining society. When they come to ROK- they expect to see something relevant to red pill truths, the manosphere, etc. For the past 3-4 years, they just get about 3 articles a day. I am sure they would much rather read about women, money, game, etc- anything to help them combat their inner demons and find the support of other like minded individuals. Thus leading to my conclusion, that an article on traveling to Cyprus is completely irrelevant.

  13. Well, that’s your opinion and it might be shared by some by far for from all. What we talk about here on ROK is linked to the categories that the site is based upon. Travel is one such category and it might sometimes overlap game, culture and politics.
Travel is maybe not a “hot topic” here on ROK in comparison to degeneracy, women and politics but it’s still one relevant such. The readers will know that Cyprus is a decent tourist destination but that the women do not seem to be as pretty, on average, as let’s say Malta or Japan. So guys who travel partly or largely for meeting girls may choose another destination (or only go for Ayia Napa in the summer, if he’s younger) instead.
Furthermore, as men we want to – I hope – accumulate lots of knowledge, both macro and micro issues/content and in that regard this article one may learn a little something, however narrow it may be for many. Therefore I often tend to write a couple of articles every now and then with mixed content, about for instance a particular travel destination but with aspects relating to history, culture, politics and economics.
I have a massive amount of knowledge and information to share, and while I respect that people have different tastes and opinions and not necessarily are interested in the same topics I hope that this broader inclination of mine serve the needs of many men.

  14. I’ll save money and give Cyprus a try thank ja for a good article.

  15. I’m curious about if or how Cyprus has recovered from its recent banking crisis. I understand many depositors received a “haircut”, a euphemism for having part of their money confiscated to help bail out the Cypriot banking system. Can you provide and update?

  16. Another shit article.
    1. Cyprus is similar to Malta in that it a country that sits on the East/West axis. There is a huge amount of Greek Cypriot culture that is very very close to ME culture. You can’t tell Turkish Cypriots from Greek Cypriots apart. They are the same people with the only obvious difference being the religion they loosely follow.
    2. Yes…Greeks hate Turks. Turks don’t really care.
    3. Yes…Local women are very average. Possibly the hairiest chicks you’ll ever see in your life.
    4. Greek Cypriots like other Mediterraneans are scamming you all the time.
    5. Russians are just money laundering. Not investing.

    1. The Cypric ancestors of Guy of Lusignan. Lovely Crusader pussy, nothing a set of hair clippers won’t fix. Sign me up sunshine…

    2. There are also aspects of Maltese culture which is very similar to Arabic culture, such as the language and the Maltese people’s ethnic/genetic proximity with Arabs. Furher, both countries have been British colonies.

    3. I used to enjoy scuba diving on Malta and Gozo, but Cyprus ain’t got nothing worth visiting. I suppose OK for a beach holiday if you take your own woman. Probably Greece is better.

  17. You failed to mention how they siezed bank accounts to bail the state out it’s financial mess. It doesn’t get any more socialist than that.
