Instead of showing solidarity with the victims and their families, we can expect that SJWs will double down and say that the only way to fight terrorism is to force open Europe’s external borders even further. The solution, however, is for Europe to demand that its population maintain a minimum level of nativity and unconditional integration, just like the terrorism-free societies of Japan and South Korea.
At the heart of this issue is the fact that there is no fundamental difference between the non-terrorist criminal proclivities of young Arab and North African migrant men on the streets of Europe and the actions of actual Islamic terrorists. Both varieties represent cultural attitudes that are savagely opposed to any assimilation into European societies and even the concept of Europe itself. Moreover, most of the Batalcan attackers, for example, transitioned from lives of regular crime to wanton destruction inspired by religious terrorism.
Rather than being assuaged by promises of homes, livelihoods and welfare-on-tap for millions of new arrivals over the coming years, a plurality, if not majority of Muslim immigrants and their descendants consciously see this as an opportunity to erode Europe’s indigenous base and make it more amenable to Islamization.
The more Europe gives out concessions, the greater and more onerous the additional demands it will face from migrants.
Should MS804’s bloody end be shown to have been the work of extraterrestrials, the Flying Spaghetti Monster or God, the argument above still stands. SJWs’ exaggerated rejoicing when a deadly or otherwise violent event is not the work of Islamic terrorists or migrants shows just how many unacceptable incidents involving foreigners and their progeny are occurring right now.

Insofar as MS804’s demise will matter to SJWs, it will be used as a pretext to batten down the hatches. The so-called racism of a majority of the German, French, British and other European populations will be to implicitly, sometimes explicitly rationalize MS804. That the biggest number of victims were Egyptians does not obscure how the airliners and cities invariably targeted are either European or directly linked with Europe, such as leaving a major European airport. The Egyptian passengers and crew were seen as traitors to Islam, plain and simple.
How will these SJWs excuses crystallize in real life? German and other governments will pump out more propaganda encouraging migrant men to copulate with and impregnate local women so the chances of them returning home fall from 20% to practically 0%. Welfare desperately needed for Europe’s legitimately sick and old, who have worked all their lives, will be reallocated to migrants whose refugee status is dubious at best. All in all, austerity will be felt by the rest of the population, while millions of new and recent migrant arrivals live on what limited largesse Europe has left. Oh, and more men with poor body language will feature in photos of a migrant man about to steal his European wife.
Some of the more common cries from SJWs after MS804 and similar happenings are bound to be something like:
- “The most popular party ahead of the Dutch elections is racist Geert Wilders’!!”
- “Too many people in France are supporting Marine Le Pen, particularly after the Bataclan attacks!!”
- “More than half of migrant crime [everything from petty theft to rape and murder] is because of racism!!”
As you can see, the same crowd opposed to any form of “victim-blaming” for those alleging rape are surprisingly open to condoning the deaths of Europeans and other Westerners at the hands of non-Western terrorists and migrants.
Europe faces an existential threat it is either too weak or too cowardly to fight
Common sense politicians like Marine Le Pen are perennially labeled as extremists for pointing out that Europe is destroying itself with moronic immigration and other social policies.
Europe is afraid of younger, more fecund and audacious peoples both within its territory and outside them. Being European, notably a white European, has become a wellspring for self-hatred. The tragic circumstances behind MS804’s loss will paradoxically exacerbate this feeling amongst many Europeans, most of all SJWs. Many will blame Europeans for this event. The Bataclan massacre did not steer Europe away from self-made disaster. Neither did the mass rapes in Cologne and other European cities. Unless Europeans are prepared for drastic changes in government and are not only prepared but incensed enough to take to the streets, more attacks like the one on MS804 are going to happen. Scary times for the airline industry. Every time I read something about how Obama is going to bring in more middle eastern refugees, it puts my job security on the line. The chances of personally being hijacked are minuscule, obviously; however, the affects across the industry will be wide felt if — and sadly, when, from the way things are trending — this happens again stateside. The more that are brought in, the greater the chances of something tragic happening.
The sequence of events would be as follows: faith of flying public reduced to nothing; sharp decline in ticket sales; decrease in revenue with profits going out the window — just when things are finally starting to go well following 9/11 and the 2008 financial crisis (the industry has been shit for years with only brief moments of sunshine); reduced capacity; routes terminated; furloughs announced for pilots, mechanics, and flight attendants, or, at a minimum, stagnation of upward mobility and seniority (which affects everything); all culminating in being jobless and fucked.
And all of this is being loosely safeguarded and prevented by the TSA. In other words, my and my colleagues livelihoods, and our very lives themselves, are mostly in the hands of a bunch of 250 pound, squishy fat-ass black bitches with terrible attitudes and paltry salaries.
Doesn’t look good. Trump or bust for 2016.
The passenger activity still is below where it was 15 years ago isn’t it? And that’s with a considerably larger population today. I used to work in the industry in college, and considered a full time career in it. But after 911 it is no longer FUN. Traveling is a pain, and going to your local airport is akin to visiting the IRS office. If one is traveling less than 500 miles, it’s silly to fly, and probably will take longer than driving. If you look at the breakdown of ticket prices, it’s often 60% airline fees, and 40% government taxes. The feds are destroying this industry. Of course, it will still exist, because we have such a poor transportation system, flying is often the only choice. But they will make it as unpleasant, expensive, and time consuming as possible.
It’s sad when I visit a third world country and can do things like walk up to the counter and pay cash for a flight leaving in an hour on a modern plane, then walk through a metal detector carrying a bottle of wine and some nail clippers, and travel on my way for a fraction of the cost of an overcrowded, prison-like experience in the US where they will likely delay my baggage 10-20% of the time after searching me like a felon (I never do the body scanners and will completely stop domestic air travel when I am forced to).
Now that the dust has settled following all of the mergers: Delta with Northwest, Continental with United, America West with U.S. Airways with American, Airtran with Southwest — things started to get better financially (not necessarily for pilot contracts, though). When oil was at $150 a barrel, shit was really ugly. Oil will, of course, shoot the roof once again, then it’s going to get really ugly, again.
The industry definitely isn’t what it was pre-9/11, but it has been getting better, which is why it’s scary to think of something coming along and fucking it all up again. Air travel, in general, is a pretty miserable experience nowadays, so I don’t blame you for avoiding it whenever you can.

Well, you will still have people like me and my family, who will fly anyway because of familial relations far away. There could be many more planes dropping out of the sky and we’d still be flying so long as the planes are.
I’ve been taking multiple long haul flights a year since the age of 6, I’m 37 now and it’s not ever going to change.
But you are right that it’s a rather crap experience nowadays, at least compared to pre 9/11. I have to say though that it greatly varies from airport to airport, schiphol is pretty good, but Frankfurt is just depressing. Kansai is ok except for the fucking security line sometimes.
Just to give an idea of what it was like back for pilots pre-9/11, even in the late 90s, Delta captains were making about 330k a year on the 767 and the retirement consisted of this: you walked into the pension office in Atlanta after working there for 20+ years, they stroked you a check for one million dollars, and told you to enjoy your retirement.
Yeah, those days are gone.
Stick to the smaller regional airports; it’s a ‘better’ experience (well, compared to the big cities: KC, Atlanta, JFK, etc.)
Interesting, my experience is basically reverse but then again I don’t fly to the US. In my experience the big regional hubs are efficient and streamlined, and in general a less annoying experience. The service can be better at smaller airports but that’s hit and miss.
I prefer automated check in and so on because it’s faster, and usually I don’t get shit at security checkpoints because I know the score.
I have to fly usually several times a year, either for work or family, so the only thing I really care about is hassle and speed/efficiency.
Oh the other good thing with big airports is lots of choices. I have spent about 3 days in total last year at Kansai airport and it would have sucked if they didn’t have multiple restaurants etc. The Sukiya on the bottom floor is open 24/7 so I never go hungry.
Schiphol (Amsterdam) is the ONLY airport I have been to that does post-9/11 security correctly. The airport is completely open to everyone. Screening is done at the gate as you board the plane. The security workers come to the plane, work that flight, and then move on to the next. This is incredibly efficient, and takes away the snaking security lines. You don’t need to be there any earlier, as the screening happens the same time as boarding (the boarding process DOES obviously take a little longer, but much less than showing your ID 3 times (at check in, at security, and at the gate, as we do in the US).
They move a body scanner (that’s the only part I don’t like, but they still let you opt out) and as they take your ticket, you walk through the security check. You are free to have bottles of water, etc. while you wait. It works so well. If we have to have this new security theater, the least we could do is copy this method and do it well. I also think it’s one of the safest airports statistically. Plus since the airport is open to the public it actually has stuff like free art exhibits, shopping at more reasonable prices, etc.
Holy shit. I worked for a regional airline (that shuttled Delta passengers to the Atlanta hub, under the Delta banner, but they weren’t Delta employees, instead a subcontractor). The pilots were making under $30k. Not a typo.
I’m quite happy with Schiphol being my closest airport. They also use specific flagging systems if you have an RFID passport. So if you often fly in/out they fast track security in many cases. This is not unique, in Kansai I often skip security altogether because they know I’m coming and going often. I spent in total several days at Kansai just last year….

I will agree that most non-US airports (or at least the ones I’ve been to) have it together concerning security; they treat you like you are a human being instead of cattle (and the ones in E. Europe, Netherlands, and Japan are better looking).

In the 90s, I could buy a ticket on the shuttle to boston minutes before it departed laguardia airport. $99 bucks, $75 with my college ID (which they never bothered to check). It really was awesome
Yeah, there was a no frills line that had an X-Fare, something like $35 for each leg (often you had 2 legs so it was $70 for a one way ticket) for same day fares. You had to be under 35 with a college ID (not checked either). The Feds completely destroyed the business model of airlines like this. Southwest, for instance, was well known for getting rid of the useless boarding pass, and just giving you a reusable plackard at the gate, that assigned you a boarding time (group A, B, or C) and you would turn it in when you got on the plane. You sat wherever you wanted. This was all deemed illegal after the TSA (and need I point out that anyone can print a boarding pass at home, it doesn’t even prove you have a valid ticket and the name doesn’t have to match anything, so this check does literally nothing).

Name on boarding pass has to match ID. It does *NOT* have to match an actual ticket. In other words if I have an ID saying Joe Blow and print off a boarding pass with that name, I can get past security. It has nothing to do with the actual passenger traveling. (Hence why they don’t do this silly check in Israel or other places that take security seriously). As Bob Barr stated, it doesn’t matter at all who I am, it matters what I am carrying with me. There were guys printing up boarding passes with the name OBL on them… they DID get in trouble for being so blatant and obviously flaunting the system. You can google this story.

Good points. My argument (or counter) to these “Syrian migrants” coming in the country is one of national security. Our government was touting Syria as the hotbed of terrorism only a decade ago but now it’s somehow safe to invite them (and everyone else) into the country without properly and legally going about it.
Another counter point is how Americans are not against legal immigration…just the nonsense that the Obama administration is trying to pull, now, with these illegal (terrorists) coming into the country.

As far as I understand it the salafist idea is that all other Muslims are kuffar. Planes do not just fall out of the sky. There is a good chance of sabotage here (note: sabotage, not terror). But as far as I know, the cause of the downing of this plane has not yet been established. I really dislike this knee jerk always thinking first of fear, and the worst. No one knows who did this yet, or why. Was there a malfunction? Did a missile shoot down the plane? Was an explosive brought on board? Did the pilot intentionally sabotage it? Did the perpetrator have brown skin or white?
There was an explosion, yes. But as far as I know there is ZERO evidence of an “Islamist bomb” whatever that is. I won’t be terribly surprised if and when the evidence shows that. But let’s not jump to conclusions ok? Besides, most of these passengers were Egyptian..it would be quite simple to target westerners if that was the target.
Of course, if it is an explosive planted on the plane, it will immediately be attributed to “ISIS” when of course there is no way of verifying that an actual organization of that name even exists, much less attribute any direct connection to them. It’s merely a case of brown people did it, therefore ISIS.

I realize this is susceptible to the “then we’re no better than our enemies” defense. But, as I have cataloged in other comments, I don’t buy this line of thinking. The short version is that I feel that if you honestly can’t decide if you are morally better than your opponent, you have no business fighting in the first place. Once you decide to fight, you have inherently decided that you hold the moral high ground. As we used to say in the Marines, the only dirty fight is the fight you lose. Once you have decided to beat the opponent, you don’t fight with one hand tied behind your balls. You do what it takes to win.

I still oppose national borders, but regional or local borders may make sense. At the very least, we need to stop the forced immigration of third-world immigrants. No refugees either. But I see no reason why travel to central america or Canada should be unnecessarily obstructed, there should just be barriers to settling.
The way I see it, the cities should be open, but local areas should be highly closed. Get rid of welfare, and people will only travel for tourism and productive work. Socialism and open borders cannot coexist.
Open borders has worked well in homogeneous societies like the EU (more freedom typically increases economic opportunities).. Once in the EU you can trade, travel and work wherever you want without dealing with bureaucrats. The same is true for the 50 states in America. Yeah, you can say the US is one nation, but when you compare it to the rest of the world, or to the EU, the individual states are much more like separate countries, with an overriding federal government or EU government sitting above them, but allowing free travel throughout. Can you imagine what it would be like if there were border checks at every state’s boundary, all harassing you and collecting fees? Bad idea.
As an American I’m free to travel through almost all of the rest of the world without asking permission (Australia, oddly enough, is the only country I’ve travelled to so far that required a visa application!). I don’t see any evidence of libertarians having opened borders with non-homogeneous societies. Just like I don’t see any public sidewalks being shut down, just because libertarians have that in their idea book.

I’m in NL close to the German border. Here there isn’t really anything going on that hasn’t been going on for the last 20 yrs at least.
It varies a lot from country to country, Sweden and Germany are getting hammered because no one else is taking the rapefugees in. So they get all of them virtually.

The plane crash wasn’t necessarily caused by terrorism. On the data transmitted by the flight computer systems to air traffic control stations, there was a full seven minutes between the first detection of smoke and when the plane’s contact was lost. This means it wasn’t necessarily a bomb, but we will know much more when the black box is found…

Probably not. It is common practice for an airliner having problems of this nature to turn out of the established air-lane it is traveling in. I read of this on an airliner-related site a few days back.
HSM? I am not sure what that is an initialism for, but I think the plane probably just had some sort of failure (probably from bad maintenance). We really wont know what happened until the flight data recorder is recovered. The location has already been pinpointed, and a submarine is in the process of retrieving it.
If the left engine was taken out by a heat seeking missile, the plane would immediately roll left. Once they locate and inspect the engines . .
This is an extremely unlikely scenario. For starters, I don’t think anyone would have any reason to shoot down this plane, it was a civilian aircraft and neither countries are in the midst of international dilemma’s or situations. Second, seven data transmissions were sent by the planes ACARS system, which are the following:

We can conclude from this: 1) There most likely was a fire. 2) A fire most likely originated in the front section of the fuselage.
I would also add that Greek Military Radar detected that the plane turned 90 degrees to the left and started to descent sharply from 11 kilometres, but it then turned 360 degrees (a full loop) to the right and by then descended to 4 kilometres, and it continued along it’s path until loosing contact while at an altitude of 3 kilometres – at 3:29 UTC +3, or 00:29, meaning this happened in the same time frame as the ACARS transmission. This means the idea of an anti air missile hitting the right engine highly unlikely, it just doesn’t align with what else was going on at the time.

Hey, I’ve worked on cars and the lousiest crappiest wiring I’ve ever seen was on European cars. Jap is a bit better but Americans are the king of wiring and circuitry, period. I had an old Peugeot and the wiring was all these open connectors, flimsy insulation and shielding, always getting corroded just like an old VW. Or a Saab. Don’t get me started on Saabs.
The Concorde would still be flying if they had the sense to outsource the wiring bundles and fittings to good ol Detroit engineers at GM. All american wiring has idiot plugs that never go wrong and are waterproofed and excessively insulated out the ass and the right gague unlike SAAB. Ahem.

The one and only Concorde crash occurred because of FOD (foreign object damage), caused by a piece of metal dropped by a BOEING aircraft.
