You’ve Already Seen One Of The Greatest Red Pill Movies Ever Made

The red pill is a common metaphor that roughly equates to “truth,” of seeing things as they really are. It came from The Matrix, a movie where the main character is unplugged from a false reality and introduced into the real world. One of the better red pill movies is actually The Truman Show

Truman begins learning the truth of his false existence where he’s an unwilling participant in a reality show. The city he believes he lives in is nothing more than a massive Hollywood sound stage. In the movie there’s an interview with the show’s creator, the god of Truman’s life:

Reporter: “Why do you think Truman has taken so long to understand the true nature of his world?”

Creator: “We accept the reality of the world with which we’re presented.”

Reporter: “If he absolutely wanted to discover the truth, there is no way we can prevent him.”

Creator: “Truman prefers his cell.”

He does not, eventually deciding to take the red pill. The most poignant moment of the movie is him banging on the wall of his large jail, of coming to the realization of his lifelong imprisonment.

The irony of game and learning how to get laid is that it primes you for the red pill. Men get into the game for sex, but dealing with the large quantity of women that is necessary for mastering it starts to teach you the true nature of women and all the little lies that society tells you about the sexes. The truth will set you free, but the sad fact is that many men rather remain plugged in.

  1. The worst thing about taking the red pill is that your family (who are all blue pill) becomes increasingly frustrated with you; thinking you’ve become a sexist monster and not realizing the truth behind the matter. Personally, i’ve grown tired of having them hint at me at setting me up with an unattractive girl who will hit the wall within a few years, simply because of their belief that i can’t find myself a ‘decent girl’ to settle down with.
I would much rather stay single, safe in the knowledge that i’m financially safe and free from drama and bullshit.

    1. I was in a boat with the men in my family over the summer on a very wealthy lake in our state. Actually it was the wealthiest. It wasn’t even 1 and we passed a massive boat (yacht) full of some chunkier middle aged women getting sloppy on wine. I look to my dad, pointed and said “you think those women paid for that boat they’re in on this weekday? Where’s the man who bought it?” What do you think they had to do to get in that boat and have the privilege of having a ladies day out getting sloppy on wine?”
He just bit his lip and kept silently jealous knowing that he worked harder and produced more than all those women combined, yet he’s riding in some dinky fishing boat while those bitches were in a yacht.

    2. Amen. I have two sisters. The older is happily married and expecting her third child. We get on like a house on fire. The younger is a single mom abandoned by her abusive boyfriend and although we love each other we have many difficult moments. She just can’t accept that I won’t tolerate her talking to me like I’m a piece of shit. I constantly remind her that she’s nearing the big 4-0 and needs to grow up soon but she still thinks she’s a little princess and can behave how ever she wants. Oh well, I’m heading for my second (hopefully happy) marriage.

      1. If you are heading for another marriage methinks you haven’t truly internalized the Red Pill.

  2. I’m surprised that I haven’t read anyone pointing out the merits of how much more alpha the guys in older movies were. The movies from the thirties and forties seem to have much more manly men then our movies today.
The movies in which Errol Flynn starred were not terribly good, but you can really see an alpha from two generations ago.

  3. @Tim
I agree. I recently flipped over to TCM this past weekend. Some random WWII movie was on. Clark Gable was the star and just watching 5 minutes of that film, I could tell he was more alpha than most men today. Men back then weren’t as reactive. They spoke with purpose and their confidence showed on their faces like it was etched their in stone.

  4. Well written. I had almost forgot about the Truman Show! And yes, it is hard having to put up with everybody else’s blue pill attitudes. Sometimes you just want to shake a male feminist vigorously and shout, “you’re betraying your own kind, you lily-white manboob!”

  5. Good points made in the post and the commentary. The truth is never pretty. In fact it’s the most ugly thing out there. Having been raised on the blue bill my whole life everything, and I mean everything gets turned upside down once you take the red pill; all the things you put value on in your life no longer has value. And it seems as if nothing in life has any meaning. I even have had to stop seeing most of my male friends as a result. It can be a lonely place but once you unplug you can never go back and live in a politically correct world again.

    1. Excellent point. That is where I’m at now, my life has been completely turned upside down and I find it extremely hard to relate to “normal” people.
I’ve become disenchanted with everything – my career, education, and life choices.
Once you take the red pill, you can truly never “go home” again.

  6. Am I the only red-pill eater who’s seen “In the Company of Men”? It unabashedly portrarys alpha vs. beta and female psychology as well as anything I’ve ever seen, but nobody else ever mentions it.
I feel like I’m hanging out with sci-fi nerds who simply refuse to watch Star Wars.

    1. I guess a quick plug for it. It’s about two guys who go full on at the same time for an average chick who’s given up on love. The idea is for them to then both dump her at the same time and leave her scarred for life. Good stuff.

    2. Another good Red Pill saturated movie is Two Lane Blacktop. Look it up. From the moment they leave the diner, it’s clear that the movie isn’t about street racing and cars at all.

  7. Like everyone else I got into game to bed women. Realizing the pretty lies society teaches us about the sexes led to realizing the pretty lies society teaches us about life.
I learned all the ways that the deck is stacked to make you into a worker bee tricked into toiling for others and getting nothing in return. I learned how companies and other organizations use the backdoor hack of your social training so they can exploit you better.
I’ve since become more “selfish” regarding people who are unworthy of my attention and simultaneously more generous of people who do.
Everywhere I see people still plugged into the matrix. I don’t try to wake them up anymore. They like their cells.

  8. I have gravitated to Old Movies since the last 30 years..almost refusing to watch anything new……people think I am weird..but now i know why and I am happy…appears that I took the Red Pill many moons ago.

  9. Very true. After pursuing pickup for over a year and making myself the most ideal man I could I still dealt with shit. In fact the level of shut I dealt with never got to be less, it just changed. Getting laid never really got easier. I just had to deal with different kinds of shit from women (thus more game). Through my experiences with all these women (really not THAT many) I saw the true nature of women. Rosh V and years before him, Dick Masterson, spoke some madd truth.

  10. I thought ‘Liar Liar’ had a bit of extreme red pill going on too.
Despite the fact that Carey is a massive Liberal tool, some of his movies have a remarkable amount of red pill to them.

    1. Indeed, Carey’s character doesn’t notice until it’s too late what a good man the husband really is, and how truly evil the wife is…

  11. I did thoroughly enjoy the Truman Show. Director Peter Weir has made a number of what might be considered red pill films despite working on the periphery of Hollywood. Master and Commander is another one of his.
