         1. As a young western guy, I lived 8 months in Russia, and can basically sum up the following about Russian vs. American girls (and this stands for all the American guys I met over there as well):
            1. Russian girls almost always dress better. Showing cleavage is not a common thing. Yes that’s party because it was cold as shit for most of the year, but I did experience the summer months and nice dresses were the standard which weren’t nearly as revealing (and often times not revealing at all) as the dresses/shirts I’m used to seeing Western girls in.
            2. Russian girls are MUCH less experienced sexually. They are much more difficult to take home from a club. There’s a few reasons for this. One, Russian culture is much more traditional, which means it’s also more chaste and family oriented. You can make out with quite a few cuties at the bar but the overall “vibe” of clubs in Russia is different. You are there to dance and have fun with your friends, not hookup (of course it still happens, just far less). Also, it’s just logistically harded to get laid there. Students don’t have their own apartments with their friends there, most people either live with their families or, if they do live in a dorm, it’s ALWAYS with another roomate, never alone.
            3. Yes Russian girls have way more interesting things to talk about then Western girls. From a young age they are much more involved (this goes for boys too) in extra curricular activities rather than video games and smoking weed like we were. They have music lessons, gymnastics, swim etc. etc. and each kid I met would have their own specific interest which they would LOVE to tell you all about. This held true for the girls I would date, one would be into photography, the other an artist, the other runs a volunteer organization..it was unbelievable. Again, this isn’t true for all, I’m saying that ON AVERAGE this is what I found in comparrison to Western girls.
            I could seriously go on forever here, there were a few things I liked less about Russian girls, but that was like 2% negative and 98% positive, it wasn’t even close.

    Where would you recommend a first-time visitor to Russia go? St. Petersburg, Moscow, or a second-tier city?

    1. One thing you should know about Moscow is that it is a huge city. By far largest in Europe, and once you somehow find yourself in the most distant outskirts of the city, and notice it still contains 15 floor apartment buildings everywhere, you will feel very lost. But then again, that shouldn’t be too much unfamiliar to someone who’s been in Japan.
       That being said, traffic is ruthless, thanks to the fact that Moscow is very downtown oriented. Everything moves to the center, and the more downtown you go, the traffic becomes more dense. Streets are inadequate for a City of that size, but public transportation is good and expanding every day.
       City is relatively quite safe, but you should watch out in the metro. Don’t look like a tourist.
       Moscow is generally, full of party culture, rich people, wanna be rich people, rednecks, intellectuals, students, plenty of stuff to visit, everything that can fit a city of that size. Very different that a random city in North America where urban to suburb ratio is always 20-80 % , which means bunch of lame people, unlike in Moscow where suburbs are recent feature still shadowed by good old apartment blocks.
       Good luck with communication. I speak a Slavic language, and read Cyrillic, and yet i had no idea what was going on around me.

    2. If you like the city vibe, go with Moscow. If you like a more relaxed vibe, go to St. Pete, but my time there was limited.

    3. St. Pete is a gorgeous city. They call it the “Venice of the North”. You will be very impressed if you take a boat trip that takes you through city canals, onto Neva river, watch the draw bridges open up, hundreds of boats all around you and thousands of people lined up all along the river to watch.        Moscow has a different vibe, more like NYC. But it’s got a lot to offer: Theaters, many museums, shows, art, cafes and many different restaurants, awesome night clubs and much, much more! There are also many beautiful places to see like Lake Baykal in Siberia, Ural mountains, too much to list here.
       But make sure you bring a neck brace with you because beautiful women are everywhere and you can injure your neck easily if you are not careful. They are the most precious asset of Russia. You will see the most beautiful women and plenty of them in Moscow.

I don’t know how much German ethnic influence remain in these parts as well as the old East Prussia (Kaliningrad) belonging to the SU/Russian Federation. Not too much, I’d assume. After all, the post-war ethnic transfers were a semi-genocidal shitfest with millions dead.
             3) At the same time, a huge chunk of the eastern pre-war Poland was annexed straight to the SU/Belorussia. Some Polish ethnic influence may thus remain here, even though I think that most of the people were forcibly transferred away. Too lazy to research myself to give a definite answer.
             So, an enterprising PUA might find some German ethnic influence in western Poland and some Polish influence in western Belorussia.     – expensive prostitutes and scammers, which are the standard meal for anyone who think they can “crack Russia” in the space or 2 or 3 weeks just because they’re foreigners and have a credit card always ready to slide in.
    – women of average looks and build, all rigorously in their mid or late 30s, divorced and/or with kids, playing the foreigner card to raise their chances of finding a new life companion, mostly a responsible father to their children.
    I also have one or two friends who are married (or living together) with Russian girls, and have to say their relationships are absolutely nothing to scream about: the lady is nothing special look-wise or brain-wise, uneducated (mainly due to them whisking them to London before they could get a degree back in Russia) and the few times I see them with their partners they’re in constant bickering mode, most of them time subjugated to the will of a hilariously (for me, not for them!) strong-tempered woman.

Costs around 200 bucks, no biggie IMO 3 to 4 weeks later you will get back your passport with a Russian tourist visa in it.
